Great car for someone that wants to DRIVE an air cooled Porsche with fresh mechanicals. In a few years it will be worth more than you paid for it.

The pictures taken in my driveway the car looks like plain silver. “Pewter” is darker than it looks in the photos, a shade darker than “GT Silver” with an interesting tint to it. Compare the pictures in the parking lot, fender to the silver rims, and you get a better idea. Parked with “all those other silver Porsches” it stands out.

History

The Turbo-Look option was offered on the Carrera 3.2 from 1984 through 1989. This was the body, brakes and most suspension parts from the 930 Turbo without the turbo motor. For 1984 the option was $11,390. Only 421 Turbo-Looks were imported to North America in 1984. For more information on the Turbo- Look see http://www.turbo-look.com/

This non sunroof car was delivered to the first owner in Dallas Texas in August 1984. Interestingly, the window sticker shows $46,550 but there is an additional dealer sticker with the price of $57,950. Were the dealers asking $11K over retail in those days? The second owner had the car from May 1989 through Feb 2002. He trailered the car to DE (Drivers Education) events around the country. This car has been on the track at Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, Road America, Road Atlanta, Summit Point, Texas World Speedway and Hallett OK. During this time the car was maintained by Mayo Performance in Euless (Dallas) Texas. The next owner was in Houston Texas from 2002 until 2006 when it was sold to the fourth owner in San Diego California. Returning to Texas and the current owner in April 2012 with 78000 miles on it. During shipment the rear valence and center reflector were damaged and needed repair. At this point the engine and Transmission were rebuilt, as well as brakes and full 60K service. The car has only been driven 2000 miles since the rebuild. An R&R Aire under body condenser was added to improve the A/C for the Texas heat. The A/C system was converted to R-134.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

GOOD

·Engine, Trans, Tires and Brakes done 2000 miles ago (with Receipts) – just broken in! Many engine brackets were re-plated during the engine rebuild.

·Photos of receipts in Dropbox/Photobucket album.

·Great unusual color combo in Pewter/Blue.

·No oil leaks or oil smell, bottom of engine is dry - see photos.

·No interior musty or smoke odors.

·Good original blue headliner, no cuts or stains.

·“Puffy” Sun Visors just replaced with good blue ones.

·Nice aftermarket ‘dead petal’ for your left foot.

·Original Manuals, Sticker, dealer papers.

·Maintenance records for the major work.

·A/C charged in Nov 2016 (usually done in the spring).

·New Battery Nov 2016.

·Concealed Kill Switch.

·Wheels are excellent, only one very small scratch. Tires just trued & balanced – all weights on the inside. Bridgestone RE-11205/55/16 and 245/45/16.

·Original Blaupunkt 'Tucson' radio available.

·New windshield washer motor

·New front hood struts (rears are good)

·Clear Texas Title.

BAD

·Tool kit missing screw driver handle, and one of the 3 screwdriver blades. An aftermarketjack pad is included. Has the Air pump (not in pictures)

·Original driver’s side floor carpet/mat is useable but worn. (Nice rubber backed coco mats over them) Trunk carpet has some stains.

·The driver’s door check strap ‘clicks’ when opening & closing

·Right rear tail light has a small crack by the screw.

·All windows, including the inside windshield, have aftermarket tint. The tint is in very good condition; however, a space was left in the bottom driver’s side for two inspection/registration/smog stickers. Texas now only uses one so there is a blank clear space in the corner.

·The car is registered in a Texas County that does not require smog checks. Therefore, I have no idea if it will pass smog or if a 1984 car would be required in other areas. Please check your local laws.

UGLY

·Looks great, better than the pictures, but the car was painted at some point (no record). Well done with the windows out, but it’s not going to win a PCA Concours. The hood, bumper and mirrors have survived well with only a few small chips. The left rear fender has several rock chips above the black protector, as well as the rear of the rocker panels on both sides. There has been touch up on the door and engine lid edges. Other small flaws in the paint, nothing scary. Some light scrapes through the clear coat on the left rear fender edge/lip. THIS IS ALL GOOD! Now you can enjoy driving the car and not worry about getting a rock chip!

·The leather dash is in good condition, however, there is a slight warp by the defroster and the passenger side by the windshield is not glued down correctly.

·Light wear on the drive’s seat bolster, see photo of piping.

·A few scrapes on the front spoiler lip (better than most)

·I will try to add photos of any flaws I see.

The Legal Stuff

I am not the owner, a dealer or broker. I am listing the car for a friend. I hate 'surprises' and will list any flaws that see or know of. I will take the car for a pre-purchase inspection to any dealer or independent shop of your choice in the San Antonio area at your expense.

The car is 32 years old and is being sold without a warranty of any kind.

The car is for sale locally and on other sites. I will end this auction early if we have a firm buyer. As mentioned below, I’ve had a number of non-paying buyers on eBay in the past.

A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITof $500 must be paid via PayPal within 48hours unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller. If there is no contact within 48 hours of the auction ending the auction will be canceled. I’m amazed how many non-paying bidders there are on eBay. Apparently it’s a game for some people.

SHIPPING

I will assist with shipping to the United States ONLYfrom San Antonio Texas.
