Description:

1963 Porsche 356

HERE WE HAVE A 1963 356 B SUPER CABRIOLET CHASSIS NUMBER 157841. THE CAR WAS COMPLETED ON JANUARY 11,1963 IN THE ORIGINAL SILVER METALLIC(6206) AND A BLACK LEATHER /B INTERIOR AS EVIDENCED BY THE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY WHICH GOES WITH THE CAR. THE CAR WAS OWNED BY THE SAME INDIVIDUAL WHO LIVED IN PALM SPRINGS,CALIFORNIA AND DENVER,COLORADO FROM 1980 UNTIL 2015 AT WHICH TIME IT WAS SOLD TO THE CURRENT OWNER, WITH ONLY 67,786 MILES ON THE ODOMETER .IT IS BELIEVED THAT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL MILEAGE DRIVEN BY REFERENCING THE SERVICE AND REPAIR ORDERS BACK TO 1980 AND DISCUSSION WITH THE LONG TERM OWNER AND A NATIONAL PORSCHE JUDGE WHO IS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE CAR. THE CAR HAS RECEIVED METICULOUS MAINTENANCE DURING THIS TIME AS EVIDENCED BY THE 35 YEAR OWNER KEEPING DETAILED RECORDS EACH TIME THE CAR WAS SERVICED. THE BODY IS IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION WITH NO NOTICEABLE EVIDENCE OF MAJOR OR ANY CONDITION OR RUST REPAIR. ALL BODY PANELS APPEAR ORIGINAL WITH CORRECT NUMBER, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO STRUCTURAL RUST. I WOULD RATE THE PAINT AN 8 PLUS OUT OF 10 WITH BEING VERY SHINY, WITH ONLY MINOR CHIPS AND IMPERFECTIONS.THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND SUSPENSION RECENTLY RECEIVED A THOROUGH DETAILING AND CLEANING AND MOST IS STILL COVERED WITH ORIGINAL UNDERCOATING.THE BODY PANEL FIT,GAPS AND EDGES ARE EXCELLENT. THE ORIGINAL SUPER ENGINE P705131 WAS REPLACED SEVERAL YEARS AGO WITH P745513 WHICH WAS PERIOD CORRECT AND COMPLETELY REBUILT AT THAT TIME. IN JANUARY,2016 THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED FROM THE CAR AND COMPLETELY DETAILED BY STORZ GARAG, A PREMIER RESTORATION SHOP IN DENVER. THE ENGINE SHEET METAL AND RELATED COMPONENTS WERE REPAINTED TO HIGH STANDARDS AND MOST HARDWARE WAS CAD PLATED. MOST ALL THE CHROME HAS BEEN RE PLATE, REPLACED OR IS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. ALL THE SEATS,DOOR PANELS,TOP,REAR SEATING,SUN VISOR, CARPETS,GARNISH RAILS,DASH COVER,TONNEAU COVER,WINDSHIELD AND SIDE GLASS APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL AND ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.ALL GAUGES OPERATE CORRECTLY TOGETHER WITH ALL LIGHTS.THE DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM WAS UPGRADED TO DISC BRAKES BY THE SECOND OWNER SOMETIME IN THE 70'S AND ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION IS STRONG AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. THE ORIGINAL RADIO IS NOT HOOKED UP AND THE CLOCK IS NOT WORKING. SEVERAL OF THE CHROME SEAT HINGES HAVE PITS IN THEM AND THE REAR WINDOW ON THE ORIGINAL TOP HAS SOME BLEMISHES. I HAVE BEEN A SOMEWHAT ANAL 356 MEMBER FOR MANY YEARS.I AM ALSO A ROCKY MOUNTAIN PORSCHE CLUB MEMBER WITH AN E-BAY RATING OF 100%,SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE. I HAVE TWO OTHER CONVERTIBLE D PORSCHE CARS WHICH ARE IN AMAZING CONDITION. AS I NEED ROOM IN MY BUILDING, THE RESERVE IS VERY REASONABLE. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS AND I WILL GIVE YOU A QUICK ANSWER. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS MY PERSONAL CAR, I AM A LICENSED COLORADO AUTOMOTIVE DEALER AND AM SELLING THE PORSCHE AS AN EXEMPT VEHICLE. HAPPY BIDDING.
