This example is in Guards Red with Black leather featuring factory optional Anthracite Grey stripe flannel seat inserts, Heated driver's seat and Limited Slip Differential. The provenance of the car is rich in history. The original Porsche documentation provides that the vehicle was a Porsche fleet car in Germany from delivery to 6,100 miles. Within the documentation a certified affidavit from Porsche confirms that prior to sending the vehicle to the U.S. as a new vehicle, the odometer was replaced with a US speedometer and all services were performed prior to shipping. Since entering the U.S. on December 1, 1988, the vehicle was delivered to Corlett Imports in Louisville KY and was sold to the first registered owner in Bedford, IN on 04/26/1989. Then in November of 2012, the most recent owner from Indianapolis, IN purchased the vehicle with 11,623 miles from the original owner. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle saw a thorough inspection including a complete engine-out and reseal performed. The following items were addressed:

All formal documentation, history, and records come with the car including the original window sticker. The total mileage on this Porsche is now 14,764. Of the small number of Turbo Targas that entered the US from 1987 to 1989, only a handful remain registered in the United States, making this a very rare piece. This air cooled Turbo Targa was commissioned with the right options, in the proper color combination, and still has low miles. Vehicle has seen a proper interior, exterior and engine bay detail. There are only a handful of Porsche 911 Targa Turbos registered in North America and of the 87, few remain in such condition. The paint is in excellent condition and is deep and glossy and almost blemish free save some small imperfections on the driver side near the front lamp which shows a very small rock chip, driver’s side rear fender which shows a small rock chip, and the lower right rear near the bumper guard shows a few very small paint chips. Both of the rock chips have been properly touched up and show very well. The interior shows no wear and the leather looks new and has been properly conditioned and is free of cracks or wear. Only known item of repair was in April of 2001, a motorcycle bumped the back end and knocked loose the right rear bumper guard. It was replaced and no other items were damaged. The Porsche dealer in Louisville, KY was the dealer who completed the work.

Mechanically, it is well sorted and everything is operating as it should. Underneath there are no visible oil leaks and it drives and handles in spectacular fashion. The top is original and the headliner within was recently replaced as the original fabric had become loose and was not adhering to the backing.

Overall, this car is great condition both inside and out. When recognizing this is a 30 modelyear oldcar that has not seen any performance modifications nor any aftermarket components applied, you can understand its rarity and value.

If you are looking for phenomenal driver or are a collector, this is a prime example which has been well cared for and comes with a great provenance. Many of the original items come with the car such as:
