Description:

1974 Porsche 911

You're looking at my 1974 Porsche 911 Targa. Desirable first year of the air cooled, short hood version of the classic 911. Stainless targa bar is in very nice shape, as is most brightwork. The car is numbers matching and has always been a southern car so it's very solid. There is one small spot behind the driver on the floor where about 3" long (see pic)...easy fix. Also, the driver's side of the front pan where the suspension mounts needs repaired (see pic), again, very common repair. Other than that the car is very clean and solid. The car was originally chocolate brown but was repainted this darker red about 10-15 years ago. It's held up well and looks good but does have minor blemishes from being driven over the years. There is a crack in the windshield. Nice targa top and it doesn't leak. The mileage is below 80,000 original miles. The odometer broke several years ago at 59,XXX and the car has been driven less than 20k additional miles since. The interior is nice as the seat covers look very good, the carpet is good, and the dash is very nice with no cracks. $3,000 stereo system was installed a few years ago. Door pockets were removed at that time, but I have a set I'll include in the sale for you to install. The car runs and drives, however I believe it needs a new ignition box as sometimes it doesn't want to start. Some days it gives me no issues, other days it will crank but not fire. Wait a day and it fires right up. Could be a short but my mechanic thinks it's the ignition box. Turbo valve covers installed. Tires are good, as are brakes. Matching Fuchs. Euro rear bumperettes. Due to some recent changes I don't have space nor time to fool with. Car is being sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. I am a private collector thinning my collection of exotic/collector cars due to a move onto the river and lack of space. Ask any and all questions before bidding. Feel free to make an offer to end the auction early. A $500 deposit is due immediately thru PayPal, and balance must be bank wired within 3 business days of auction ending. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
