NO RESERVE AUCTION!
1982 Porsche 928 S 5 speed manual Black over Red interior with 41,276 miles. The mileage is accurate and the Autocheck report verifies this. Clean title in hand! I you have been looking for a low mileage Porsche 928 5 speed that needs TLC this car is a great choice.
The car runs and drives. The clutch grabs fine and the transmission shifts smooth. The engine makes the power it should. The fuel tank was boiled out, the fuel pump, and filter are new. Some of the vacuum lines have been replaced as well. The car has been sitting in a garage for many years. I have not driven it on a long trip so I would not recommend driving this 928 home, come with a trailer or have it shipped.
The headlamps, windows, and sunroof all operate. I cannot comment on the A/C but it probably needs a charge.
This 928 needs work and will need to be repainted. There is surface rust on various parts of the car. The rear quarter panels on the bottom of the side windows show rust. The bottom of the rear window on the hatch has rust. On the lower part of the outside A Pillars near the cowl panel there is a very small amount of rust forming. The body is very solid overall and clean underneath. The floor pans are solid and clean. The body is straight as an arrow and all panels are lined up evenly. The front bumper spoiler is missing. I see no signs of this 928 ever being in an accident. The battery tray is solid as well. The factory Vin and paint code stickers are present in the driver door jam and are in great shape.
The interior needs work. Both front seats will need to be recovered. The dash has a plastic cover over the original and should be removed. I am not sure of the condition of the dash underneath, it appears to be leather and assume it will need to be recovered. The instrument cluster gauge pod has a crack going down the middle. The rear seats show in decent shape. The carpeting in the car is decent. The door panels show well and are not misshapen. The leather trim panels in the rear hatch covering the quarter panels are pulling and dry, they will need to be redone.
This 928 is a very rare find and has nice low mileage at 41K. This is an excellent candidate to do a light restoration. You should be able to repaint the car for $3,000. Redo the front seats for $1,000 in European leather. Recover the dash in leather $1,000. New tires $600. Tune up, timing belt $1,200.
Put some TLC into this 928 and you will have yourself a car worth easily over $20,000 or more. Prices on these cars are climbing very strong and will continue to do so!
I will be happy to send serious buyers additional pictures. I strongly suggest interested buyers to come see the car in person.
