Description:

1971 Porsche 914

I have a 1971 Porsche 914 for sale. This car underwent a full restoration 15 years ago. It was driven intermittently the following 10 years, and then sat for the last 5 years. The car has 87,000 miles. The 5-speed transmission was freshly rebuilt right before it was parked 5-years ago. The Weber 48 carbs were also rebuilt at that time. Because the car sat outside for 5 years, moisture was able to penetrate the cylinders through the carbs and fuel intakes, causing at least a couple of the pistons to freeze in the cylinder walls. The engine is currently locked, but is very much salvageable. It was the 1.7 liter, but was bored out to a 2.0 liter. With the dual weber carb set up, it's pretty quick! It also has a nice Monza exhaust. All of the electronics work, including the headlight motors. The Targa top is removable, and is in great shape. This 914 features 4-wheel disc brakes. The interior is pretty clean, with a couple minor tears in the driver seat.
The car overall is very solid. There is some surface rust and minor bubbling throughout, and some rot at the bottom of the pillar behind the passenger door handle. The floors and both trunks are super solid. Also, the key is missing, but the ignition can be turned with any key or a screw driver. The car rolls fine, and has both brake and clutch pressure. It's a project, but an easy one. The car has a clean and clear title.
