Porsche Certificate of Authenticit

In this day and age of hotrod 911 builds, t is very easy to loose site of Porsche’s original intentions. These are light and agile cars with wonderfully unique characteristics. As more powerful and modern drivetrains get transplanted, art of these cars’ souls is lost. I really admire a thoughtful build in the spirit of the day. Something that is built the way the factory would have done it, nly with improvements using period correct parts. This early long-hood 911 is the perfect example of an authentic sport purpose build.

This 911 was a pretty base-level example when ordered new. Per the Porsche COA, t is an original Irish Green 911 and only had the Comfort Package option.

Although not much is known about the early history, t was clear from the full restoration that this 911 was a nice example that had no signs of major abuse.

The current owner had always wanted to build a sport-purpose/rally inspired 911 ever since seeing pictures of them as a teenager. In fact, e loved the hood mounted Cibie lights so much that he found a NOS set before he even bought this car to restore. This set of 4-lights had never been mounted and were still wearing their original factory primer. Now, e began his search for the right 911. He found this example in 2008. It had been painted another color sometime in the 80’s and the original motor had failed long ago and was already replaced. So, his owner decided to embark on a 2-year plus adventure restoring this Porsche back to its glory with some tasteful period-correct enhancements including, f course, he Rally lights

Some of the best local builders were hired for this restoration project.

Henry Schmidt of Supertec did the motor work:

Freddie Hernandez of Vintage Restoration did the body and paint which was stripped down to the bare metal. Although the body was straight, here was a bit more rust than the owner expected. Freddie is a talented metal guy and he cut away and welded in new steel where needed (see pics). All new seals were installed and correct German Glasurit paint was used.

15x7 factory Porsche Fuchs refurbished

Early factory-style chrome roof rack by Auto Foreign Services

Furthermore, he wiring harness and full electrical system was replaced with all new lights, witches, tc.

As you can imagine, his 911 looks fantastic. There are minimal signs of use. The paint looks great and the gaps are excellent. The interior is equally nice. Everything appears to work properly except the clock.

The driving experience is pure early 911. The car fires to life easily with very little coaxing. The throttle response is immediate. The gearbox is tight and shifting is simple and precise. The handling and braking are as they should be.

This Porsche comes with a large 3-ring binder full of build receipts, ool kit, pare tire/wheel, nd jack.
