1983 Pontiac Firebird TRANS AM

1983 Pontiac Trans AmCar was sold new in PA and is currently located in NY. Clean NY title. This is a rare factory Y84 Recaro optioned car - which were only produced between 1982 and 1984. There are no exact production numbers available for 1983 Recaros, but they only made 2,000 in 1982 and 1,321 in 1984. I included a picture of the factory invoice obtained from Pontiac Historical Services showing the Y84 option. Car no longer has the Recaro seats, but does have the other features: gold finned turbo-cast wheels, gold Pontiac letters on the middle tail light panel, Recaro door handle inserts and the Firebird sail panel medallions (not decals). The seats are the normal Trans Am seats which have been recovered in aftermarket two-tone velour fabric.
Has the LU5 Crossfire 305 engine and runs great with no check engine lights. 700R4 transmission shifts smooth. Headlights go up and down with no issues. Has cruise control, power windows and locks. Cruise seems to work sometimes and not others. Has power antenna, but am unable to check due to radio not working. Hood struts work great. Hatch struts are a little weak but still work. T-tops didn't leak when I drove it through the car wash. Unfortunately the dash pad is cracked. All center caps, ground effects and front air dam are present. Shifter plate still has the Automatic Overdrive lettering. This is usually long gone on these cars.
Car has A/C but it does not work. The car does have rust and the driver side floor board has some rot - see pictures. There are rust blisters on quite a few panels and a large scratch on the driver door. Unfortunately ebay only let's me have 24 pictures, but I have a lot more that I can provide. You are more than welcome to come check out the car in person as well.This car isn't perfect, but it's a nice driver. Needs someone to give it some love / attention and hopefully restore it to it's former glory.Car is located in Rochester, NY and is sold as-is / where is. You need to arrange your own shipping.
