Description:

1977 Pontiac Le Mans Sports Coupe

For Sale is this eye-catching 1977 LeMans Sport Coupe. All the looks of a Can Am at 1/4 the cost. Car has been repainted in this bright red. (Bucaneer?) in some time in the past. New fuel sending unit and fuel tank, which didn't need replacing but I didn't find that out until I replaced it. New brake booster and master cylinder which seemed to work fine on the trip from GA but was leaking. Rebuilt " Dualjet" carb which I left on because this is a numbers matching car. New battery and cables. New belts and fuel filter, oil filter and transmission filter. All fluids changed with the exception of the differential. New KYB shocks all around. New front driver's side caliper because I couldn't find a bleeder screw anywhere to fit the old caliper and it kept leaking when we were pumping the lines for the new booster and MC. The dash is cracked and I've never put a dash pad on it, although there's a place in CA that will build you a new one for $1500. AM/FM 8 track but the tape player doesn't work. New Thrush muffler that sounds pretty good for single exhaust. Lots of tread on the tires as you can see in the pics. Replaced the hood latch from one I got from an old Can Am in Chicago. The 4.9 runs pretty good but I had those glorious plans to drop a 6.6 Pontiac engine and put a shaker hood on it and make a bench seat Can Am. A guy in NY has some Can Am stuff, item: 223633544159, with the shaker hood and lots of other stuff! The valve covers have that nice "patina" from never being painted. Someone took the AC unit out and never replaced it with anything. I've priced this car too move as I do not have room and maybe someone could do what I couldn't with the engine. I may have forgotten some of the things I've done to her but ask as many questions as you may have. I won't have all the answers as the person who sold it to me had little to no history for me. It was assembled in the Atlanta area which is where it spent it's life until I drove her to TN. I've got well over $6500 in this car, although I don't anticipate making any money on her, she needs a good home and some car shows. Mileage may change a little as I love to drive her around and all the attention I get for an old fella. Good luck and God bless.
