Description:

1965 Pontiac Catalina 2+2

This is a true 65 Pontiac catalina 2+2 hard top (no window post). 421, 4 barrel with a muncie 4 speed. This car is from California. The body is solid but will need some panels to be repaired from dents, I have sanded most of the body to bare metal. The front and rear window frames have been replaced with new metal. The trunk pan was replaced. The lower right quarter panel has new metal. The radiator core support was sand blasted and painted. There are 2 small rust through spots in front of the left door at the bottom of the cowl that will need to be repaired. Frame appears to be great. The engine ran great when removed but did burn a bit of oil. As far as I know the engine has never been opened. It has a stamp code of WG on the block. Engine and transmission do not appear to have any damage. I have boxes full of parts for the interior and exterior trim. I do know the door panels, headliner and sail panel were removed and discarded since they were cracked. I do have a restored dash pad in the box. The front seats frames were sand blasted and reupholstered by a local auto trim company. I have new seat covers for the rear seat bottom and back. The rear seat frames have been sand blasted and painted. The windshield was removed and broke upon removal. The rear glass is undamaged. The front outer fenders have been separatedfrom the inner fenders for sanding and painting. Support brackets and small parts have been cleaned and primed. The bumpers are both there and will need rechroming.
The hood hinges were missing when I received the car. So the car will need hood hinges, door trim panels, sail panel, rear seat trim panels, battery tray. The car was disassembled when I received it. I have not made a complete inventory of all the items in the boxes.
I do know there is a Pontiac dash mounted tachometer and that was a installed accessory. I have the original build sheet for the car. It is factory burgundy with a black interior and is a floor shift (hurst)
This a rare and collectible car when finished. I know this is the big brother to the GTO. The big Ponchos are getting harder to find. This wouldnt take much to finish and be a great addition to a car collection.
