Description:

1964 Pontiac GTO

1964 Pontiac GTO 2-Door Hardtop

This GTO has, from the factory, the 389 cubic inch motor with a four-speed M20 transmission. It was a factory 4-bbl. car but now has tri-power.It was originally blue (Paint #WW) with a blue interior (Trim Code 215).It is now Paint Code J which is Pinehurst Green with a black interior which is Trim Code 214.It has 94,828 miles on the odometer which I believe is accurate.

The previous owner of the GTO told me the engine and transmission were rebuilt when it received a color change. Here's the best part:This GTO was bought new in Connecticut by Brother #1, who then sold it after a few years, to Brother #2.Brother #2 owned it for 40 years and then I bought the car. Both brothers are still living in Connecticut.

According to the original owners, no panels were ever replaced. It has standard options, but to me more important on an original car, it should have and does have red-line tires, original steel wheels and original hubcaps. And most importantly, this GTO has the optional four-spoke steering wheel. You might consider looking up the steering wheel value.I found an NOS one on ebay for $4,000 and a used one for $2,800.

The engine block number is 9773155 with a build date of B14.The four-speed number is 3851325 with a Hurst shifter. The bell housing number is 9773320.The speedometer and gauges (including tachometer) and the horn work. The radio is original but doesn't work. The previous owner says it works but is not hooked up.He had a glove box stereo in the car but removed it.The engine does not smoke, nor does it have any leaks.

I have most of the needed paperwork including the PHS documents and a copy of the original building sheet and window sticker. Some options other than GTO package include power steering, posi rear, trunk light, outside mirror, spinner hubcaps, spare tire cover, and backup lights.

You may contact me for more details or photos.I know everyone will ask my reason for selling---I'm moving into an LS-6 Chevelle.

On Apr-06-19 at 15:26:05 PDT, seller added the following information:

NOTE: When you "close up" the rear seat photo, it looks like the center panel is frayed. It is not. That frayed looking area is dust that I failed to clean off. I will replace this photo later if possible.
While I'm adding information, I would like to mention that all of the alignment items are pretty nearly perfect (hood, doors, fenders, deck lid).
