It was then sold to a gentleman in North Carolina, who held onto the car for about thirty years, before it was sold to Massachusetts. The owner in Massachusetts had the car for five years, putting 3200 very enjoyable miles on it in that time. The car was restored to a high standard in the mid 2000s, and has been babied ever since. The car is in outstanding condition inside, out, and underneath. Truly a show-worthy example. The car retains its original engine; originally spec'd as a 389ci V8 with one 4bbl carb, it has since been converted to a Tri-Power setup. This gives it a bit of a power bump, and looks absolutely killer under the hood. As it sits, this GTO is in need of nothing more than a new owner who will use and enjoy it. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail and in direct sunlight. - The car appears more white than Ivory, and has minimal blemishes. Blemishes include just a few very minor touched-up chips on the lower front end. There is also a small spot on the driver's rear quarter, just ahead of the GTO script, where it appears as though the paint has been buffed thin. It's just a little flat looking. We made an effort to capture this with photos/video, but it just doesn't show up. Very minor, but worth noting for those planning to show the car. No bubbling or anything of the sort to be found on the car; extremely dry and clean. - Chrome shows no oxidation or damage. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free, including lower fogs. All lights and signals are functional. - 15" polished Cragar wheels are in excellent shape, with no damage or oxidation. Tiger Paw tires are in nice shape as well, and the DOT number indicates they were manufactured in 2011. Tons of tread; the tires have seen roughly 4000 miles of use. Interior: - Dark blue vinyl seats are in great shape both front and rear. No scuffs on the outer bolsters, no scratches, discoloring, or damage throughout. - Gauges are all functional, including the 5-digit odometer, which reads 08625 miles and we're told has rolled over once, for a total of 108,625 miles. Analog clock in the cluster is not functional. - Dark blue carpeting is in good shape, with just a little bit of wear visible by the pedal box. The car will also come with a nice set of blue rubber floormats. - Dash presents extremely well. Dash top is in great shape, with no signs of wear or age, and the polished portion of the dash shows minimal oxidation. Radio is functional, as are the aftermarket temp and voltage gauges mounted under the radio. - Fan and heat are functional. This car does not have air conditioning. - Headliner is nice, clean, and tight. Interior lights are all functional. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it's documented in detail. Underbody is fantastic. No rust or damage to note whatsoever. This is a nicely-restored car that has been babied and garage-kept ever since. - This car is a phenomenally well-sorted driver. The previous owner actually told us that in her 3200 miles of driving over her five year ownership, the car never had so much as a hiccup. Absolutely no tendencies of concern. All we have felt inclined to do is change the oil and top up fluids. The car starts right up first turn, idles steady and cool, sounds fantastic, pulls hard, tracks and brakes straight, and the power steering is light and direct. Ride quality is outstanding with the relatively new Bilstein shocks and many recently-replaced bushings. Brake master also appears to be close to new, as are the lines. This is a very usable, smooth, and easy-to-drive GTO. With any further questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at 773-273-8257.
