Description:

1977 Pontiac Firebird

For auction is a sleeper 1977 Pontiac Firebird with a custom 2002 Chevy LS1 Camaro SS motor installed. Recent build, with lots of upgrades and excellent maintenance on the car. I have every paper of maintenance back to the 1977 window sticker. It was restored to be a clone of the car from "The Rockford Files" 1974-1980. Here are the highlights:

- Custom install of a 2002 Chevy Camaro LS1 SS engine by a speed shop in California. Computer was

"flashed" and all sensors have been turned off so it runs like a simple fuel injected car.

- Custom updated steering column with original Firebird Esprit steering wheel

- LS1 motor is mated to a 4L65E automatic transmission, one of the best and most reliable trans.

- Updated to disc brakes and rotors on the fronts for safety.

- Custom heavy radiator and shroud custom fitted to this engine.

- Heavy duty springs and shocks for suspension.

- Custom new Marshall gauges from Anaheim, California (some need to be hooked up yet)

- Brand new two-stage Urethane paint with exact match from the TV show of GM Copper Metallic paint.

- All new steel metal quarters recently installed by body shop.

- New Pontiac Firebird badges and screaming chickens along with rocker moldings and hardware.

- Newer Firestone 205/75/15 tires all around and matching spare in trunk.

- Restored original Rally II wheels with trim rings all around.

- Professionally upholstered front bucket seats with restored frames, new foam and covers.

- New custom carpeting with original door panels, headliner, dash (cap included) and console.

- New trunk mat and all seals on doors and trunk have been replaced for a waterproof fit.

- All lights, brake lights and turn signals work.

- Aftermarket working radio.

- Custom dual exhaust with Flo-master mufflers.

The cars does need a little TLC yet to make it perfect, because it is a newer LS1 install, a tune from a speed shop would maximize the power of this massive motor; this car always wants to run and stretch its legs and it is just too much power for me.The gauges on the dash don't all work; the charge, oil pressure and temperature work great but it needs the speedo, gas and tach hooked up yet. Has a crack in the dash and little nicks and scuffs from driving.

There was a leak in the windshield before a new one was installed and has rust in the lower corners. This car was originally sold in Colorado before heading to California so it does have some expected rust underneath. Both frame rails and solid and floor pans are good.

Has a clear title in my name and is ready to roll, The car has over $20K in the build and restoration but selling here for much less. Trying to cover some bills and need the money. Overall a sharp head-turner and fast resto-modded speeder. Missing one sun visor.

Winner to pay $500 deposit through PayPal and balance due before car is removed. Payment due in reasonable time period (1-2 weeks) Payment in cash or bank wire is preferred. I can help load car on truck as needed. Please ask any questions before bidding. Never seen a Rockford Firebird with an LS swap before, may be a one-of-a-kind car!
