Description:

1979 Pontiac Trans Am 2 door coupe

Up for auction is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am in Atlantis Blue, with dark blue deluxe interior (glove strap, etc.) with hobnail cloth instead of vinyl. It is NOT a WS6 car. It is a slick top-no t-tops. Automatic with air conditioning and some power options.
I know nobody wants to look at an auction where some wannabe hero deconstructed a car, then couldn't finish it, and is looking to make a ton of money on a shell and a garage full of parts. Well, most of that is true for me, but I am starting the bid at .99 cents, with NO RESERVE. High bidder gets it-period. I am 43 years old and have a 6 year old. I have had this car for over 3 years, and it has always been garage and storage kept. I have come to the realization that I am not going to be able to restore it anytime soon. But I am going to give someone a good deal.
Before I get into details, when I purchased this car, I was not an expert on 79 Trans Ams. I didn't know how to validate a numbers matching car. And frankly, didn't really care, as I was going to make it my own. Now that I have taken a picture of the location on the block where I believe should be a matching last set of VIN numbers, it does not match. But I believe this to have a 403 engine, and although the valve covers have been painted black (you can see blue underneath), the engine looks to be original with the car. But I am selling as a non-numbers matching car, as I read conflicting stories online as to if that number should match the last of the VIN.
That being said, I have already done a lot of the work for you. I have the car PHS documented, and the winner receives all of that documentation. I have paid for 2 reproduction window stickers. The tag is current, and the title is free and clear. So you aren't receiving a pile of parts, you aren't receiving a salvage car, and you aren't receiving one with no title; you are receiving an opportunity to re-construct a really cool car.
I have a lot more pics, and a lot more information, if someone wants to discuss this car. I have included some pics of parts that come with the car also. I will NOT part it out. The winner receives all of the parts also, including some rare and hard to find ones too. This car has minimal rust, and is a excellent candidate to restore. Shipped to Missouri, spent time in Arkansas, and the rest in Oklahoma. I threw away a few big parts, like the front and rear bumpers, and front seats, back when I knew I could replace them, and they were junk anyway. But I have kept the rest of it, in case the winner wants it.
As a bonus, the winner will receive extra parts, like a rare spare tire and inflator, near mint condition shaker setup, near mint condition seat tracks, a jack assembly, 4 excellent condition WS6 wheels, and many others. All of the glass is in good shape. There is a lot of originality here, and I hope someone will restore the car to what it used to be.
If you have questions, or need additional pics, please let me know. My feedback and time on E-bay speak for itself. If you want it shipped, you have to handle every bit of that yourself. I will help push it onto the trailer; that's it. And I'm not sure all of the parts will fit inside. I will hold the car in my garage for up to 2 weeks for the winning bidder, unless we make different arrangements. And the car rolls fine, and will go into park, etc. The tires hold air fine, but two of them have very slow leaks. I will help load all of the parts and car; no problem at all. But I would bring a trailer and a large van, moving truck, or big pickup. I'm going to give you every single part I have for that car; that's the right thing to do.
Thanks for looking!
