Description:

1978 Pontiac Trans Am

1978 Pontiac Trans Am, This is about as close to 1978 as you can get, 47,342 actual miles, last owner had it for 31 years garage kept.
Body: Survivor car all the way, all original sheet metal, mostly original Mayan Red paint that shines very well, Original decals still in good shape, showing some age as you would expect but still very nice. Doors shut with one finger, no sag what so ever. The undercarriage was ziebart undercoated when the car was purchased new, undercarriage is excellent, To put your mind at ease i pulled the passenger seat and took a picture of the floorpan...they are mint...front and rear. Trunk is mint as well, original spatter paint, original jack, lug wrench, space saver tire and inflater all never removed.
Engine: is the 6.6 Pontiac W72, top performance model of 78 with a 4 speed manual. All matching numbers, runs like a top, fires up instantly, Idles great, 60psi of oil pressure, runs like a new 78 would have. Here's the big one to me...car does not leak a drop of anything! Transmission shifts perfectly, smooth clutch, again 47k mile car, not messed with, all matching numbers drivetrain. Only change is car has headers with true dual exhaust now, though i have the original manifolds that will come with the car.
It also has the WS6 suspension package and 15x8 wheels with like new goodyear 225/70/15 tires. Driving the car is impressive, handles very well, good power, no squeaks or rattles very solid and tight car.
Interior: Original deluxe cloth interior, car was garaged so seats look excellent, dash is excellent, headliner is as new, even the carpet is original and very nice. Everything works on the car even the am/fm 8 track player!...38 special 8 track included! Original gm speakers...again car is as it was in 78. I should say the clock has a mind of its own... it works...when it wants to...pretty common. Original glass as well.
I have the original build sheet from behind the back seat as well as PHS documentation for the car.
Deposit of $500 due within 24 hrs of end of auction, Full payment within 3 days. Cash or Cashiers check (car will not leave until cashiers check clears...that can be a few days) If you need to ship it that's fine, it will stay garaged until pickup.
