[FlipperToolsVideo] My 1988 Pontiac Firebird. has 130,720 miles, 383 Stroker engine, not original of course to the car, I honestly do not know how many miles are on the motor. I have only put 1,000 miles on the car since purchasing it June 9, 2017 having only used this for cruise nights and car shows.
Has the following:
383 Stroker from a Goodwrench 350 engine
Eagle Stroker Kit
3/4 race cam
Built 700R4 transmission
Shift kit
Posi rear end with 3:70 gears
Holley 650 double pumper carb
Flowmaster Exhaust
Headman Headers
Line Lock
WS6 package
Original reconditioned WS6 wheels
The T-tops do come off easily and DO NOT LEAK, believe me I tested this. Also the car still has the original T-Top storage pouch in the trunk. Motorized trunk lid works, and the headlights do open, close and operate. All lights inside and out work properly. Rear of headliner is not hanging but is sagging a little, and there is a 2 inch or so wear tear on the driver seat, other than that the interior is in excellent condition, the dash is perfect! Has operating pillar gauges as well, these gauges are not lighted guages. The car has had one repaint some time ago by previous owner, the paint on this car is in very good condition. The OEM Firebird Forumla decals had been reapplied (though I could never confirm that this car originally was a Formula), I removed the 5.0L hood scoop decals and replaced with the 383 Stroker decals. The undercarriage is also in very good condition, there is no rust or rot on this car that I could find. We purchased this car with the intent of taking it to cruise nights and car shows, however we have since purchased a Mustang GT and a Charger R/T so the Firebird spends most of its days sitting in the garage, has been garage kept since I've owned it.. The car runs and drives fine, good brakes, tight steering, good acceleration, tires are in great shape. At 30 years old this car inside and out is eye catching.Issues: Keep in mind, I am by no means a mechanicOccasionally the steering wheel lock will not allow you to turn the ignition key, need to pull on the wheel while turning the key, only happens once in a while and is common on these apparently caused by years of drivers pulling on the steering wheel to exit the car..Occasionally during starting the starter will click and not engage, however it does engage after that, it may need a new starter,Car is hard to start when engine is cold, you need to keep feathering the gas until it warms up.Had an electric choke added, but cold start remained the same. Can use a good tune up and probably carb rebuildIt is using oil, I do not see any oil leaking on the garage floor, but it does use oil.Third gen F bodies are steadily increasing in value and are supposed to continue to do so.This car is by no means perfect but is a great muscle car that drives and sounds great and is in very good condition.Above is a walk around video that I took on June 16, 2018 showing the car's condition and allowing you to hear it running.
