1968 GTO, PHS documented400, 4-Speed, Convertible, For Sale. Engine, and, 3:55Nodular Safe-T-track are Number's Matching to the car. M-20 Muncie Transmission is not #s matching, and is out of a 69 GTO.Early Z code VIN,Fremont California Black Platecar, builtthe 3rd week of April.Rare Flamebeau Burgundy N paint cod, 24 Whitepearlinterior, w/ Ivory top. Anon-rustedSouthwest Dessert car most of its life. No rust on floor pans, or trunk pan at all. All Seams in trunk and doors notrusting apart. No sheet metal replacement needed. Doors are good, along with bumpers. No heavy rust pitting on Frame, or Floorboards, at all. Car was cosmoline undercoated at some point. All smooth clean metal once cosmoline iscleaned off. Even all the fuel, and original brake lines, along with, all the Delco Moraine wheel cylinders still on the car. Fuel lines still havefactory canvas wrap, in some places. No rust under cowl, or windshield, top header bow, either. Hood and deck lid are rust free. I found car sitting on blocks, in a warehouse, for over 25 years; with a new set of 1986 datedgood/yeartires. Previous lateowner rebuilt the engine and trans; and was just setting in car.Since carwas stored for so long, I pulled engine to check condition, and enginespecifications.Engine specifications checked out to a stock rebuild. At that time I installed the following,a newMelling M54DS oil pump, Melling oil pump rod, upper and lower oil dipstick tube stainless, newoil dipstick, timing chain double rollerComp Cams, stock flywheel, upgradedstock clutch muscle car series,67 ram air exhaust manifolds w/ new studs, 2 1/2 inch 409 stainless duel exhaust w/h-pipe, walker quiet-flow mufflers stainless, new starter, custom made full starter shield stainless, alternator, coil flamethrower, battery, battery cables heavy duty, nos timing cover #9490347,a reproduction water pump, sent the original carburetor out, to a company in New Jersey, to be restored correctly, to ram airIII specs.; senttransmission out to professional Muncie restorer, nos yoke, new drive shaft, heavy duty spicer u-joints, #107A1 Hurst shifter master rebuild kit, Hurst shifter bushings,#5324 shifter stick re-chrome plated, sent outdifferential, posi reconditioned, new alloy axles1541,bearings & seals, studs, new oe correct heavy duty coil springs all 4,Kyb shocks, stock control arm bushings, new metallic brake shoes riveted, drums turned, wheel bearings frontTimken, wheel cylinders kit Delco Moraine, master cylinderreproduction, brake hoses & rear lines inlinetube, radiator hoses & clamps date coded, and much more. I will post Pontiac HistoricalSociety soon as I can. Car came from factorywith somepretty good options, including, Retractable Headlamp Covers, Tilt Steering Wheel, Power Steering, Deluxe Steering Wheel,Rally IIWheels, G77 x 14 Redline Tires, Power Top, Power Deck Lid Release, F-41Suspension Ride & Handling, Exhaust Tips, Floor Mats, Rally Gauges in dash Tachometer,Am Radio with 8-Track Tape Player (missing).( Also missingare original Air Cleaner, factory 9782482 Water Pump, Distributor Vacuum Control Switch & Hose Assembly.) I have the original#salternator, 1111449 distributor, and master cylinderthat go with car. All of the factoryhide-away headlight hoses & canister still on car. Vacuum switch is bad. Car runs, drivesout strait with no issues. Starts and idles perfect,( all lights, blinkers, key buzzer, tachometer, and gauges all work )with the exception of the backup lights. Does not run hot, I drive carlong distance in 90 degree weather,to shows all over Ohio, Pontiac Nationals and such, withno problems. Drivetrain has almost7,000 miles on rebuild, so its just broke in, with oil & filter changed every 500 miles. Drive as is or easy restor, as no rust repair, or drivetrain neede, so consider saving a lot ofmoney there. Car still has Lacquer Paint on it, all checked and cracked, andpresents well. Theramair decals were on it when I bought it. It as not a Ram Air car. although Warparth Pontiac makes the best Upper& lower air cleaner parts, to convert car over correctly. I have both stylesof hood scoops that will gowith carIn the past 8 years have only seen a few convertibles in this color combination. This GTO is well worth a concourse restoration.Only reason for selling is my daughter wants a automatic car. A 72WW5 or a 68 Ram Air II automaticGTOwould fit the bill. Questions Please Email Thanks

Due to picture problem in listing I thinklisting should be ended, or try to ad pictures through Photo Bucket.Ebay will not let me erase and re-load any Photo's since there are current bids Sorry for the Problem. 12photo's are not enough to view car. The last picture was for PH, and now I can't even delete that picture. Never had this problem, as all pixels are the same. Also missed a lot of information on car. Like new fuel tank, with factory gas tank straps 36 stamping #sstill on the car, with no rust also unheard of. New early1967 widerheater core, as Fremont Plantapplications were different than other plants. Heater works excellent even on cold fall days with top down. Much more Info to list, but there is no point without good Photo's. Last thing is I will not buy any car's that need extensive rust repair.I looked for years to find a 68 GTO Convertible that was fee ofrust .If floor pans and trunk needreplaced,I will not purchase, andwalk away from it. Only pitting on this car was the rear end, as they were not painted at the factory. Rest of car is un heard of ; no rust Floor channels, rocker panel, front fenders bottoms, underside of deck lid.Only the doors have some bubbling on lower corners. Most likely one of the best rust free survivor GTO's in the country. If I can not get picture upload to wor, I will be forced to end listing. Sorry .
