Description:

1986 Pontiac Fiero GT

This is a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT. It has the 2.8L V6 mid-engine. It has the original 15" rims and ALL center caps with Fiero logo. The paint is original gold and the condition is what you would expect after 30 years. The vehicle is currently on PNO (planned non-operation) since May 2017. This vehicle was driven on weekends until May 2017. This has mainly been my weekend driver and project car. This car has had a lot of replacement parts installed over the last ten years. Due to job transfer I cannot take with me. The following is a list of the good and bad of this vehicle to the best of my knowledge and recollection as I write this. Please feel free to ask any question.
THE GOOD - within the last ten years- ENGINE REPLACED - 2007 (@142,000 miles approx. 35k miles on engine)- Installed Borla exhaust cat-back system with exhaust tips- Replaced Headliner- Replaced Sunvisors- Replaced Map sensor- Replaced O2 sensor- Replaced Vapor Canister- Replaced K&N filter-Replaced All Coolant Hoses- Replaced Radiator- Replaced Shocks & Struts- Replaced Heater Core- Replaced Fuel Injectors
- Replaced upper Plenum vacuum lines with NOS- Replaced Idle Air Control Valve
THE BAD - current issues- Typical issues a 30+ year old car has- Only one plate (personalized - one was lost)- Will need tires due to age- Needs Catalytic Converter replaced- Needs 1/4 panel windows replaced- Headlight motors do not work- A/C does not work- Transmission "knocks" into Drive from neutral- does not affect how it drives- Cruise control does not work- Driver's seat needs new upholstery- Needs both rear calipers, possibly brake booster- Has an oil leak- Has an exhaust leak- There is slight damage to diver's door just below window- Taillights are cracked and delamination is visible (typical of Fieros this age)- Needs paints
This vehicle is on PNO. I started having loss of power and lack of acceleration. I took vehicle into local shop and they said the catalytical converter needed to be replaced. Technician said that replacing the catalytic converter should be i, but could not be sure until I brought it in for the service. The vehicles idles fine once warmed up for a few minutes but dies and sputters on acceleration. The vehicle will have to be towed. I would recommend a flatbed. The items mentioned above are to the best of my knowledge and recollection as I write this. Please ask any question you may have.
