Description:

1970 Pontiac Trans Am

1970 Pontiac Trans Am, rare blue/blue car, 4 speed M20 transmission, 355 12 bolt positraction differential, rare base Trans Am (original regular production options included tinted windshield, AM radio), numbers matching engine and transmission, original sheet metal, and complete Pontiac historical documentation including build sheet.

I purchased the car over four years ago and have just completed a comprehensive, frame-off restoration.I completely disassembled the car carefully labelling all the original components. The body shell was media blasted.Since the car spent its life in California, there was no rust significant rust that required repair. As a result, the original quarter panels, doors, floor pans, fenders, deck lid, and hood remain on the car.The paint and body work were professionally done.

Every part or component was either restored or replaced when the car was reassembled.Whenever possible, the original parts were retained and rebuild as required.Any of the original parts that were replaced were retained (e.g., brake rotors/drums, steering linkage, glass, wiring harnesses, etc.).Here’s a partial list of parts that were replaced:exhaust system (reproduction system by Gardner Exhaust), windshield, door glass, door panels, seat foam & covers, interior trim, front coil springs, shocks, steering linkage, ball joints, radiator, belts & hoses, all wiring harnesses, all weather-strip, door handles, wheel ornaments, and carpet.Either GM NOS parts or the best available reproduction parts were used.

Finally, a few period-correct upgrades were added including a Ram Air IV step-up (i.e., “614” cylinder heads, aluminum intake, special exhaust manifolds). The “614” heads and manifolds are rare but flow significantly better than the original “D” port heads. The engine was built to run on unleaded premium fuel (about 9.5 to 1 compression) and produced 430 horsepower on the dyno. Of course, the original heads, intake, and exhaust manifolds go with the car. A correct, restored AM/FM radio with rear speaker was also installed. The original AM radio will also go with the car. This car will not disappoint.I highly encourage interested buyer to inspect and drive the car. Please contact me if you have any questions or want additional information.
