Description:

1971 Pontiac Firebird

STUNNING 1971 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FORMULA ESPIRIT.
EVERY YEAR I SELL 1-2 FINE EXAMPLES OF CLASSIC OR ANTIQUE CARS OF EITHER MY OWN OR FOR MY CLOSE FRIENDS OR CAR CLUB MEMBERS THAT I KNOW WELL AND HAVE KNOWN FOR MANY YEARS.
I WON'T LIST ANY AUTOMOBILES THAT WERE PURCHASED ONLY TO FLIP OR HAVE BEEN OWNED FOR GENERALLY LESS THAN 10 YEARS AND MOST OF THEM HAVE BEEN BUILT OR MAINTAINED AS THEIR PRIDE AND JOY.
LOOKING AT MY FEEDBACK YOU WILL A 1934 FORD TRUCK WHICH SOLD FOR $28,700.00, A EARLY TR7 WHICH SOLD FOR $11,900.00,A 1940 FORD DELUXE FOR $19,000.00 WHICH ARE A FEW EXAMPLES THAT YOU WILL FIND THROUGH THE YEARS AND ALL WITH VERY HAPPY BUYERS.
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL PONTIAC WITH UNDER 64,000 ORIGINAL MILES WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN 1973. THE OWNER WHICH IS A LONG TIME FRIEND OF MINE IS ABOVE RETIREMENT AGE AND FOR HEALTH REASONS IS NOW THIS YEAR UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HENCE THE SALE.
THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN IN THE SNOW. SINCE THE RESTORATION HAS NEVER EVEN BEEN DRIVEN IN THE RAIN. THIS CAR IS AND HAS ALWAYS HAD A RUST FREE BODY.
THIS PONTIAC WAS DRIVEN UNTIL 1983 WHEN IT WAS GARAGED UNTIL 2000 WHEN IT WAS COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED AND STRIPPED BY MEDIA BLASTING WITH HONDA DOOR HANDLES ADDED, ALL LOWER TRIM AND DRIP RAILS BEING REMOVED FOR A CLEANER LOOK.
A 455 WAS WAS PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT BEING LOW ENOUGH MILES THAT IT DIDN'T NEED TO BE BORED AND A 700 R4 WAS REBUILT ALSO AND ADDED WITH A REBUILT 370-1 10 BOLT POSI REAR END. IN 2009 HE HIT A DEER RETURNING FROM A CAR SHOW WITH SEVERAL FRONT PANELS BEING REPLACED AND AGAIN THE CAR WAS PROFESSIONALLY REPAINTED THE SAME COLOR. THE BODY AND PAINT WORK ARE EXCELLENT WITH NO ORANGE PEEL AND SMOOTH AS A BABY'S BOTTOM. JUST A TRULY BEAUTIFUL COLOR AND AUTOMOBILE WHICH IS ALWAYS GARAGE KEPT. THIS CAR WILL SET YOU BACK IN THE SEAT EASILY AND STOP JUST AS QUICK.
THE INTERIOR WAS ALSO RESTORED IN 2000 INCLUDING ALL NEW UPHOLSTERY INCLUDING REAR PACKAGE TRAY,CARPET,HEADLINER,ARM RESTS ECT. ALL PURCHASED FROM CLASSIC INDUSTRIES BACK IN THE DAY. THE ONLY THING MISSING IS THE RADIO DELETE PLATE AND A MODERN RADIO IS MOUNTED BENEATH IT.
THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO 134A BACK THEN AND STILL HOLDS A GOOD CHARGE. 3-4 YEARS AGO THE FRONT END WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT INCLUDING BALL JOINTS, CENTER AND TIE RODS ECT. INCLUDING SLOTTED ROTORS WITH CERAMIC PADS AND A NEW QUICKER RATIO STEERING BOX.
THE REBUILD ON THIS CAR WAS FINISHED IN 2004 AND HAS HAD ONLY 7000 MILES PUT ON IT SINCE THAT TIME.
THIS CAR IS BEAUTIFUL AND CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE A SHOW CAR SO IT NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS A DRIVER AND NOT A TRAILER QUEEN. THOUGH IT HAS BEEN TREATED WITH THE UPMOST CARE AND NEVER A DOLLAR SPARED ON ANYTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE YOU WILL SEE A SMALL CHIP IN THE PAINT ON THE DRIVERS LOWER DOOR JAMB, AND I'M SURE THAT IT HAS A ROCK CHIP OR TWO IN THE FRONT THAT I HAVEN'T NOTICED. THERE IS A 1/2" SCRATCH ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE BUMPER THAT WAS TOUCHED UP WITH MATCHING PAINT WHICH YOU DON'T NOTICE UNLESS YOU LOOK FOR IT.
I FIRST SAW THIS CAR IN 2006 AND HAVE RODE IN AND DRIVEN THIS CAR AND WHILE I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL CLEAN Z-28'S AND NONE OF MINE HAVE COME CLOSE TO THE CONDITION OF THIS CAR.
WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOORS THEY ARE SOLID WITH A PERFECT FIT, NOT LIKE ANY OF THESE BODIES WHEN THEY BECAME 4-5 YEARS OLD A I NEVER DID LIKE THE SOUND OR FIT FROM THE GENERAL MOTORS DOOR SAG THAT IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM ON THESE CARS BUT NOT ON THIS ONE. THE DOORS ARE ALIGNED CORRECTLY AND THEY SHUT QUITE AND NICE.
AS WITH ANY VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE THIS LISTING IS BEING SOLD AS IS.
I AM ALSO WELL VERSED IN DEALING WITH OVERSEAS BUYERS IN WORKING WITH THEIR TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS.
AS FOR THE FLAWS: THERE IS A SMALL CHIP IN THE PAINT ON THE RIGHT FRONT CORNER OF THE BUMPER AND A SMALL CHIP ON THE LOWER DRIVERS DOOR JAMB, THE PASSENGER ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK QUIT WORKING, THE RADIO DELETE PLATE IS MISSING AND SOME OF THE BLEND DOORS QUIT WORKING 3-4 YEARS AGO AND HAVE NEVER BEEN LOOKED AT SO WHILE THE A/C COMPRESSOR STAYS ENGAGED IT BLOWS WARM OR NEUTRAL AIR AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS DUSTY.
PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR A BUY IT NOW PRICE OR THE RESERVE AMOUNT. TO BE FAIR TO ALL BIDDERS THIS LISTING WILL RUN TO THE END OF THE AUCTION WITH A VERY FAIR RESERVE FOR THIS CAR TO SELL.
HERE IS A PRETTY RARE CHANCE TO OWN A WELL KEPT AND CHERISHED FORMULA.
HAPPY BIDDING!
