please read entire listing. i know it is long but i willdescribeevery detail about this car so nosurprises. car is for salelocallyso i reserve the right to end auction. also car is sold as is where is it is a 32 year old car there is noguarantee.
can you fly in and drive this car home. iwouldn'tbe afraid to. i have driven this car all overFloridaand it has never given me a issue. the car is 32 years old so it may have some quirks here and there but ibelieveit is a very very nice example. i have owned this car for over 3 years. i did the restoration on it when i first got it. any questions feel free to ask.
body was striped down to bare metal. was resprayed in dupont base cote clear cote the factory colors. i also painted the engine compartment in base clear. motor was pulled out for upper rebuild. the firewall was not painted as it was in good shape. the door jams were not painted so you can still see the factory colors and decals that proves this is a pace car. trunk area under hatch was repainted as well. decals came from phonix graphics. i did not put the door decals on cause ibelieveit looks better this way. new t-top weatherstrips have just been installed car does have a couple small chips on front end. not reallynoticeablebut the car was built to drive. also rear louvers are gm and could be resprayed. they look fine but for a show car i would repaint. headlights work fine up and down. front windshield is new.
interior just got a new headliner and carpet. the seats were not touched and are in great shape. i believe this to be a low mile car. headliner was sagging and carpet was dirty so they were changed. i also found a upper console out of a 84 trans am that i installed in headliner. i know one of the pics is shows the plastic dome cover missing but i have it just forgot to put it on. all gauges work. speedo is a little jumpy as most old cars are. i just had it fixed read last paragraph . radio is the correct orig red face for the pace car. i sent it out and had a mp3 dock put in it so you can listen to your mp3 player or a old cassette if that is more your speed. the radio has turned off on me 2 times but comes back on later on. not sure what teh problem is there may just be a loose wire but it works 98 percent of time perfect. just being up frontabouteverything.powerantennaworks great. the mirrors are power and they tend to work a little here and there. i amtheonly driver ofthecar so i dont ever need to move them windows and door locks work good. dash has no cracks.originalpace car floor matts. rear seat folds and has t top bag and sun shade in rear. ac blows cold. heat is hot just like it should.
motor was pulled out when the restoration was underway. i wanted a bit more power so the intake was ported and polished. motor wascompletelyresealed from top to bottom. hooker headers were installed ibelievei still have the factorymanifoldsand 3 inch exhaust. the car sounds great. there is nocatalytic converter so if you live in a state that requires you may need to have one put in.the car runs pretty peppy now. it wont keep up with a newer trans am butat leastit isnt dog slow anymore. car also has new fuel pump ( ac delco) in tank and new fuel filters. new plugs and wires of course as well block was painted pontiac blue. even polished the ac lines. motor looks great also car does not overheat at all. most of these old trans ams did because no front grill. this car will sit intrafficfor a hour or run a hour at 80 mph no issues.
transmission is a world class t-5 that was just rebuilt. i did not do the rebuilding of it but a local ship here did. drive shaft is aaluminumshaft from a 92 trans am
wheels are off a 86 ibelieveformula that was striped down and polished. they look great. and alsobrandnew tires withabout500 miles on them. i have all 4originalareo wheels and caps that go with the car. suspension got new bushings where needed and car has beenlowered. car runs great though not bouncy very firm. also had brand new kyb shocks installed on all 4corners
car runs great and will get you where you need to go. i drive her a few times a month but i picked up a new project and i dont want to see this one sit outside any questions feel free to ask and i can send more pics if serious. please only bidders withat least10 pos feedback. i will not sell the car any lower then starting bid so no offers please. car sold as is where is buyers needs toarrangepickup if not picking upthemselvescash or bank transfers but car will not leave till all funds are clear. $500 due paypal within 48 hours of auction end
just a little update. i took the car in to seeaboutthe jumpy speedometer, hey told me it has something to do with the cruisecontrolbox underthehood that the cables connect to. i had them run a new speedo cable strait from trans to speedo and now it works perfect. but the cruise is not working. everything is still under the hood but you will need a new box if you want the cruise control to work
