1968 Pontiac GTO Hard Top

1968 Pontiac GTOSelling my 2nd owner GTO. Vin. Fremont California. Runs but will need some repair to get it perfect. The replacement motor knocks when powered. Feels like rod bearings. Oil leak around the right side. Valve cover or oil filter area. Air is not working. Original pro rebuilt engine is wrapped and on a rolling stand.Machined and .040 over balanced and has not been run. Pistons are approx. .005 from the top decks. Original 16 heads are on the GTO now and were rebuilt a few year back with Manley stainless valves, Hardened seats, Comp cams springs and roller tip rockers, push rods, lifters, timing chain and gear. Heads and all manifolds ( intake and exhaust) were lightly port matched by my self. Casting slag areas on the heads were smoothed out for better oil return. Exhaust system is Flowmaster 2 1/2". Tranny is the original TH 400 PX was rebuilt when restored ( 20+ years ago)with a heavy duty sprag shift kit and torque converter. Rear end is not original but is a 1968 HO GTO 3:55 Posi that was also rebuilt at the same time as the tranny. Paint is flaking and there are a few rust areas in the usual places (see pics and ask questions). The most severe is the lower part of the rear widow. Other areas are lower front fender, corners of doors, lower front rear wheel openings. Undercarrige is solid and was painted and undercoated when restored. Interior is stock with no rips but has some areas at the seams that have come undone. Headliner is sagging a bit as the thread has given away at the bows. Dash was re done by Just Dashes in So. Cal. I have a trunk full of the original parts to this car that will be included and more. Car was raced at LACR for 5 years (Trophy bracket) fulfilling what the GTO was designed and made for back in the 1960's. Race on Saturday-Sunday Drive it to work Monday. And shown for about 10 years. I have a shelf full of trophy's to show. POCI Documentation as well. And the visor is autographed by Jim. Questions Welcome Thank You John 805-898-8009
