Description:

1969 Pontiac GTO

Two-owner documented 1969 GTO Convertible. Original engine, transmission, and axle. Owned by the same family for over 35 years.

Ordered new from Bill Rapp Pontiac in April 1969, this GTO convertible features the 400CI 350HP engine, column-shifted automatic transmission, 3.23 Safe-T-Track differential.

Factory Options: Crystal Turquoise paint, AC, PS, PDB, Power Seat, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, AM/FM Radio, Power Windows, and more.

The current owner and life-long friend of the original owners, took possession in 2007 and maintained the car, installed minor upgrades, and enjoyed driving it as a dependable cruiser at least once a week during nice weather. We will do our best to accurately describe the condition of the GTO.

Body/Paint

Most of the sheet metal is believed to be original with the exception of the deck lid which was damaged in a minor collision many years ago. We also believe this is when the car changed color from the original Crystal Turquoise to white. The car was painted again about 20 years ago with white Imron paint. The paint looks good from about 30 feet, but is showing age and wear. There is minor rust showing at the door corners and passenger rear wheel opening. This GTO is presentable as a daily driver showing wear, and would require a paint job/restoration to be a show winner. The floor, trunk, and frame all look solid with only minor surface rust.

Driveline

The car shows 100K on the odometer. To the best of our knowledge the engine has never been out of the car. It starts easily, runs very good, and burns little or no oil. The OEM ignition has been upgraded with an Accell pointless conversion. The rebuilt OEM carb is mounted to an Edelbrock Pontiac Performer intake, and the factory 4-barrel intake is included with the sale. The OEM air cleaner is long gone. The transmission is original, and shifts well. The Pontiac Safe-T-Track is fully functional and easily be demonstrated when desired.

Interior:

The Parchment seats show wear but are generally presentable as are the door panels. Carpet shows fading. Convertible top is fully functional, but showing age.

Dash has no cracks. Fuel gauge and speedometer work but the Rally clock is questionable.
