1967 Pontiac GTO Resto-Mod

You are looking at a 1967 Pontiac GTO Resto Mod! This car is a one of a kind!Someone put a lot of time and money into this car! Big Block V-8 Powered, Corvette 6 Speed Manual Transmission, Dana 44 Corvette Independent Rear Suspension, 4 Wheel Corvette Disc Brakes, Rack in Pinion Steering and more! Recent Paint...there are still a few things that need to be sorted out...but you can enjoy the car while you sort them out!I have a video of the undercarriage and a walk around with her running at bottom of the page...if they don't work or you have additional questions shoot me a text 203-592-2478 I'll send you the videos.
The engine is a big block. I'm guessing it's a 396 but I honestly do not know? The engine runs smooth with no funny noises, no smoke or known internal mechanical issues. There are still a few things that need fixing under the hood...the left exhaust manifold gasket is leaking, the power steering belt needs to me tightened and the heater core has been bypassed.
The Transmission shifts through all gears with no issues, all synchro's are good, the clutch grabs nice with no chatter or slippage. The rear end (Corvette Dana 44) is smooth with no funny sounds, all u joints are good with no clicking sounds...The rear spring will need to be replaced eventually...it is splitting in two spots...they are all over ebay for about $150...not a big deal but I want to disclose to whoever buys it. I drove it how it sits with no issues what so ever! The Front spring is good as are the front coil over shocks! This car also has Corvette 4 wheel disc brakes and control arms! Everything was removed from a 1996 c-4 Corvette! Best of both worlds...Corvette handling with old school Muscle car looks!
The undercarriage is rust free...I can tell someone replaced the floor pan, trunk pan and gas tank! Frame is nice and solid... Look at the pictures...If I was keeping this car ide power wash the corvette cuspension anhand polish all the aluminum...I did a small spot and it looked great! This is a one of a kind GTO!
The interior is in nice condition. The seats, door panels, rugs and headliner are all in nice shape...look at the pictures she shows well. The steering column is out of a Corvette so if you don't like the steering wheel you can easily change it as it already has the adapter plate on it. There is no radio, the heater controls are not hooked up and some of the interior dash lights are out...the wipers need to be sorted out...they are not working properly...the dash gauges are not working...speedometer is not moving so I don't know the true miles ( current inspection shows the miles that are on it now , the clock is not working nor is the gas gauge...She needs a little work to be finished but the bones are there! Atleast it's a project that can be enjoyed while you are sorting things out.
The paint was just done. I was told it has 3 coats of clear from the guy I bought it from and I believe him. I wet sanded the left front fender and it looks like glass! If someone puts the energy into wet sanding the whole car it will look even better! It is Very presentable how it sits but if you want to bring it to the next level a wet sand would only help. There is a chip and flaw here and there but nothing major. I have the paint formula for whoever buys her. If I was keeping this car I would sand and repaint the jams...they are presentable but far from as nice as the rest of the car...
The car has 1999 Corvette c-5 factory wheels on it. There are 1" spacers in the rear and 2" on the front for proper look and function. If you don't like the wheels your options are limitless...I think with the underpinnings of this goat being a Corvette they look great! Any corvette wheel 1984-2013 will work.
