1992 Pontiac Bonneville

PARTS ONLY!! NO RESERVE!! MANY GOOD PARTS!! NON-DRIVEABLE!!

It is time to sell “Bonnie”, the best car I have ever owned. Bonnie is my 1992 Pontiac Bonneville SE (4 door sedan, V-6, 3.8 L—231 CI). I have owned this car for more than 15 years and 100,000 miles. Before that it was owned since manufacture by my extended family.

Regrettably Bonnie is dead. Age had slowly taken its toll and finally, last March, after being turned off for 30 minutes it would start but would not stay running. The next morning it did start but again began hesitating after 10 minutes. I parked the car in our driveway for several months before investigating more. Unfortunately I tried adding some Sea Foam and probably should have left well enough alone; the same problems happened but with the addition of an occasional backfire. Possible diagnosis: bad crankshaft sensor...but replaced by dealer 10,000 miles ago. More likely an electrical or fuel issue (although coil pack motherboard, fuel pump and filter were replaced...but not recently).

Regardless, Bonnie is dead. 25-26 years old and 223,800 miles. It is not worth trying to get it running again because the unibody/frame has rusted beyond repair and it is not safe to drive any longer...even if the engine issues could be remedied. It is not even safe to lift normally on a hydraulic shop lift. Consequently this “local pick up only” should involve either a tow truck or a flatbed trailer.

But Bonnie has decided to donate her organs...there are a lot of parts that can be removed that still have a lot of use in them. Please look at the photos.

The following is a list of various parts and some brand and part numbers, their age/mileage, condition, etc.:

--all front disc brake pads (Raybestos PG Plus PGD 505 semi-metallic) and both rotors: new Oct 2016/600 miles (!!)

--all spark plugs (Bosch 4304) and wires (Federal Parts 82902); windshield wiper blades; air filter (Fram CA 6479): new July 2016/800 miles

--all steel brake lines, catalytic converter (Walker 15642), front exhaust pipe (Walker 42277), oxygen sensor (AC Delco AFS21) , and 2 rear wheel brake cylinders: new Nov 2015/1,600 miles

--crankshaft Sensor and serpentine belt: new at GM dealership May 2013; 10,700 miles.

--tires (Kelly T Explorer Plus 215/65-R-15): 6/32”-8/32” tread left

--thermostat, intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets: new Dec 2012/14,100 miles

--both radiator hoses, PCV Valve, fuel pressure regulator: new Oct 2012/15,100 miles

--2 hood support struts: new Sept 2011

--all 4 wheel struts: new June 2011

--fuel pump and strainer, sending unit, and filter: July 2010/29,900 miles

--belt tensioner assembly: new July 2006; 60,000 miles

Other items/comments: The radiator has never been a problem..it shows no signs of leaks or damage. I have changed the coolant several times. The automatictransmission: ha! This one I have left “well enough alone”...I have done nothing with it other than maybe check the fluid level every couple years...and it has never had a problem at all!! The air conditioner and some of its components were removed years ago. A bypass pulley was installed.

As for the body panels: the doors seem in good shape; the front quarter panels does also; same with the rear trunk deck; the only significant issues with the hood and the roof are the several dents resulting from softball size hail.

As for the glass: no cracks; a nic or 2 in the windshield which is pitted with age. All of the other windows seem fine.

All of the exterior lights work and the lenses are intact with the possible exception of the rear license plate lights.

As for the interior cloth seats: they are all a dark blue cloth type. The front seats are the split-bench type. The driver's seat is worn significantly but its power adjustment features work fine. The rear seat is in good condition.

I will also include a box of misc. used parts including a wiper motor, door latch, door electric control switch, misc wiring, taillight assembly (lens corner is broken), misc tray of fasteners, and coil packs. (see photo)

The title is clear. It had a lien from a credit union which has been satisfied. I have the title and that letter giving that release. I have been told by the Wisconsin D.O.T. that is all that is needed to sell this vehicle as “junk”, “scrap”, or “salvage”.

So there it is. Darn good car. Lots of good organs...err parts. Scrap price alone is probably about $200. The catalytic converter with only 1600 miles on it alone cost over $90 originally. “Bonnie” still wants to help...check out the part numbers because they fit a lot of other vehicles too.

In case this need to be said, I have tried to give my best, honest description of the condition(s). However, this car as sold as is with no guarantees or returns. Still...it is worth it...

Thanks for reading.
