1940 Pontiac Other Woody

Today for sale, we have arguably one of the finest, all original, 1940 Pontiac Deluxe “Woodies” in the country, better known as the Woody Wagon. The Woodie is a Pontiac Deluxe, with its correct six-cylinder engine, three-speed manual transmission, and all matching serial numbers.

The Woodie has been purchased from its original owner. It was bought from the 87-year-old daughter of local area physician who purchased it new in 1940. The car has always been maintained and has never been restored. Correct upholstery was installed in the 1980's and the gray steel front fenders were re-sprayed at about the same time. Otherwise, the Woodie is entirely original and unmolested. The engine runs very strong for its age, and it shifts through the gears smoothly. The number plate in the engine bay is still legible as well as the other labels. The interior is very clean, with all original wood and glass. The undercarriage is free of any major imperfections with very minor surface rust. All of the doors open and shut with no issues and the rear hatch opens with the upper glass staying in place.

The Woodie does have a 3rd seat for another row, it is not installed but we have the matching frame and cushions. It has the optional factory radio with the factory installed external antenna. The fabric roof is original and does not have any rips. The Woodie does show some signs of its age as it does have 90,000 original miles, but to find such a fine specimen in this type of condition is very rare. Some speculate that there are only about 25 Pontiac Deluxe Woodies left.

If the Woodie is purchased a $1000 deposit will be required in 48 hours. The Woodie is available now and is ready to be shown to serious buyers only. Please contact me for any further information.
