Description:

1979 Pontiac Trans Am

Up for sale is my 1979 Pontiac Trans am 400, 4 speed car. This is the best of the 3 that I own and since I don't have the time or money to complete I wanted to send it off to a new home where it will be assembled and put back on the road. I will address everything that I know according to sections. This is a T Top car, W72 of which this is 1 of 2917 made in 1979. This is a VIN code "Z" car.
ENGINE: This engine is correct but not original to the car, this engine is a rebuilt PWH coded 400 (the last 400 produced). I am including all the accessories except the carburetor (currently on the engine) and the orange shaker, I have a shaker for the car, I also have a correct 4 speed carburetor and intake as well that is included in the sale. I will leave the nice aluminum "Pontiac" valve covers. Engine is currently in my 1977 Trans am and can be heard, engine doesn't run hot and the oil pressure starts at 60psi. All the accessories were replaced when I installed the engine in my 77 so they are new or rebuilt. I also have a good aftermarket flywheel that is included in the sale.
TRANSMISSION: Transmission is a Super T10 that includes the bellhousing, new clutch set, shifter and linkage, along with driveshaft, and slip yoke.
BRAKES: Brake system has been completely overhauled, new master cylinder, new brake hoses, new calipers all around, new proportioning valve, new brake power booster, new stainless steel brake lines (see pictures) and new pads.
INTERIOR: Have all seats, side panels, door panels, gauges, trim, seatbelts, etc, only things needed for the interior is carpet and headliner. Floors are solid as are the trunk floors.
EXTERIOR: Have 4 fender flares, front air dam, rear spoiler, 2 front noses, front turn lights and the grilles for the front (not pictured). There is some rust starting behind there the rear fender flares mount to the rear quarters (see pictures) and some body damage above rear passengers side tire (see pictures). There is, what appears to be a drilled hole in the body near the trunk on the passenger's side where someone may have installed an antenna for CB radio.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL: 3.23 posi, disc brake rear.
It just need to be assembled and painted to look and drive great. These are hard to come by, that's the only reason that I purchased it. Since I don't have any free time or money I need to see that I goes to a good home
