1980 Pontiac Trans Am INDY 500 PACE CAR

This is a 1980 special edition indy 500 pace car. It is a rust free arizona car. and only 5,700 were produced. They all were made with 4.9 turbocharged V8, 3sp auto trans, posi rear end, WS6 performance handling package w/ 4 wheel disc brakes. Fisher mirrored “T” top, Oyster interior w/embroidered firebird logoA/C, Red lite gauges,power windows, power door locks, power antenna, Turbo hood with turbo lights built in, cast turbo wheels, Special hood bird. And much more.

This car has been sitting most of its life, covered, in a driveway in Phx az. . Then, it had actual mileage of 56,056. It has the same mileage today.

The car was whole except the engine was removed to “freshen it up” ( a friend had suggested after 50,000 miles it needed it). On jan. 28 2012 I bought the car after it had been sitting covered almost 25 years . I restored Pontiac trans-ams for a living, This one had good bones so I took it to my shop and started to strip it down. I got busy and covered it and it sat another 5 years. At 77 years old I do not want to start another project now. I tossed the parts that were weathered and not usable such as some plastic trim, carpet, and mats, all the parts are available on the internet and some I already purchased such as “T” top rubbers and seals, sail panel trim, door glass wipes, new radiator, tires etc. The tires are indy “500” to match the car and are Brand new. The engine is rebuilt but not installed. NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE. The body was power washed and any missing paint, scratches or? is primed over, flairs and some body parts were just hung back in place in order to notlose track of them. This vehicle has not been driven or on the road (I believe) since the late 80's. I am not trying to make money on this car, I just can't complete it and I have invested a lot of money starting this project. I am selling with “NO RESERVE”. Good Luck and enjoy the bidding.
