1968 Pontiac Firebird HO

When is the last time you saw one of these ?

Special production, 1968 Pontiac Firebird 350 HO 4 speed. In 1968 Pontiac had a big hit on their hands and made plenty of their popular Firebird 350 and 400’s. However, only 3,784 Firebird 350 4 Speed HO’s were produced out of a total production run of 107,112 Firebirds for that year.

The 350 HO came with a unique camshaft and cylinder head combination to yield a factory rated 320 Horsepower. What is truly amazing is the first year production 400 Firebird HO only offered 5 more Horsepower (325) than this 320 Horsepower 350. In 1968 there was only a 10 HP difference in the 1968 400. This is not your common low compression Pontiac 350 that you see for sale where someone has taken a 350 2 barrel and bolted on a 4 barrel manifold. Some people have said that this was Pontiac's answer to the Camaro Z-28 which was first released in 1968. This is truly a rare and special package Firebird represents only 3.2% of all the Firebirds sold that year.

The restoration of this car was done with extraordinary effort and expense put in to the entire reconstruction of all components, including the paint and body. Great time and expense has been taken to ensure that every part of the drive train is not only factory original and matches the production VIN number but in addition the operating components such as carburetor, alternator starter motor etc. are the correct production (part) number for this year and model Pontiac. You will not see a finer example of this car even at Barrett Jackson.

The only deviation from the factory build sheet that you will find is the addition of front power disk brakes.

This is a rust-free, better than new example of a truly rare low mileage Pontiac. Documented true low mileage car with only 69,908 miles. Miles may increase some because on nice days I can't stay away and just let it sit in the garage.
