Up for sale we have 1971 Pontiac GTO. This is a true 242 Vin that is believed to have the correct miles. It's documented with the original shipping invoice and protecto plate. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Pontiac, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the GTO. It has all factory sheet metal and when you look down the sides it's laser straight. Everything is covered in the factory color Rosewood that is accented by the Black Vinyl Top and Red/Black stripes. The paint is as nice as we have seen in this color and it has a deep rich shine that's slick to the touch. All the weather stripping looks good along with all the glass. This GTO has the factory sport mirrors with the left side being remote. The rear bumper appears to have been rechromed. To keep with the factory look it's sitting on a set of factory Honeycomb wheels with a set of white letter tires.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '71. On the inside it's all stock. We were told the covers and panels are factory to this car. IT has the bucket seats and console with the floor shift. Also, it has the Rally dash with full gauges from the 140MPH Speedo to the 5000 Red Line Tach. Also, it has all the factory seat belts and factory AM/FM radio. Looking in the trunk it retains the trunk mat with the jack and spare tire.
Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the Pontiac. Under the hood it's powered by the matching numbers 400 V8 with the YS code that looks as it did in '71. It's dressed with the stock valve covers and stock breather. The trans is the '71 Model PX code 400 Turbo that's mated to the stock rear end. This GTO comes with Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes. Also it's a factory AC car. When you look under it you'll see it has dual exhaust. The floors all look great and are rock solid.
