1974 Pontiac Trans Am
One of a kind complete numbers matching 455 Super Duty. I have owned the car since 1999. Car is always stored inside. Car was in original paint when I purchased and never damaged. Repainted the car the original bucaneeer red, base coat clear coat 13 years ago, all new trans am decals installed at that time, paint remains flawless. Trunk is original excellent condition with a new trunk mat (no jack or spare). I have recently refreshed the interior dyeing all panels to the original carmine red, new headliner, carpet and dash. Interior is possibly the only one produced carmine red with black seats quite possibly one of one produced. Car is listed on the Pontiac Historical Society website. I have the original build sheet (pictured).Car was completely original when I purchased in 1999. I have completed a number of maintenance items since my ownership. Bushings, ball joints, tie rods, shocks all recplaced, car drives as new. Removed engine and replaced all seals and gaskets (BOP neoprene rear main seal) new water pump, alternator, spark plugs, heater core, hoses and belts. Cleaned and repainted prior to reinstall. Engine is in excellent original condition, and not rebuilt. Engine runs perfectly compressions are all less than 10% leak down. Replaced transmission front seal at that time. Transmission and differential (308 gears) are original unmolested in excellent condition. Light restoration of subframe, clean and paint. Car is completely original pontiac factory paint on the underneath, never undercoated, cleaned back to original appearnace absolutely no rust. Car still sports the original Super Duty 2 1/2 inch oval exhaust complete to the original tail pipes in excellent condition. Exhaust manifolds were replaced (typical originals cracked) with exact replica Ram Air restoration nodular iron manifolds. Recently restored the original Rally II wheels and installed new BF Goodrich Radial TA tires. This is not a frame off restored car, rather a suvivor with a repaint, interior refresh and maintained in roadworthy condition. It goes without saying of the 944 produced in 1974 finding an example this original in this condition is rare indeed.
