1961 Pontiac Bonneville Safari Wagon1961 Pontiac Laurentian Safari Wagon. Very rare car built for the Canadian market on an Impala frame with similar styling to the US Pontiac Bonneville's and Catalina's. Complete car with original V8, power brakes, third row seating and power rear window. Very rare model. Selling with No Reserve to the highest bidder. Can ship anywhere.
This Laurentian Safari is in very re-storable condition. The body has rust in the rocker panels and floorboards. There is some rust on the front fenders and a little on the hood. The frame and drivetrain is the same as a US specification 1961 Chevrolet Impala and it has its original Small Block Chevrolet V8 motor with automatic transmission. It does not run but is all there. It has original factory power brakes. The body-styling is very similar to a US Bonneville or Catalina. All of the chrome trim is in decent shape. It has the rare rear bumper steps. All of the glass is good. All 4 original hubcaps are in good condition. The paint has some nice patina and there is very few dents. The interior is complete and in pretty decent shape. The headliner is all there with only a little damage. The seats are in pretty good original condition with only the front seat showing wear and damage. The rear seat and third row seat are in great shape still trimmed in the original material. It will require a new floor carpet which is easily available as it is the same as a 1961 Impala wagon. It has a power tailgate window. All parts required to restore this very rare Pontiac wagon can easily be sourced as they are shared with other more common GM cars, it would make an easy restoration project. You would never see another one. It has a very nice look to it with the natural ageing of the paint giving it that much sought after'patina'. This is a very nice original '61 wagon.
It rolls and steers freely and all tires hold air so can easily be loaded onto a trailer.
