Description:

1966 Pontiac GTO Tempest

Up for sale is a 1966 Pontiac GTO Clone/Tribute car. That means this car did not leave Detroit as a GTO, ut as a Tempest. I bought the car about 12 years ago and the restoration took about three years. I have shown it several times but probably have not put 200 miles on the car since the total restoration. The transformation to a GTO was meticulous and detailed. The car left the factory with bucket seats, enter console, ir conditioning, m radio, ower steering and power brakes. It was crème color with a white interior. It is a 2dr coupe, ot a hardtop. In 1966 Pontiac built 10,363 2 dr coupe GTOs and 73,785 2 dr hardtop GTOsand 12,798 convertible GTOs. The car has 389 cubic inch engine, t has been bored .030 over, t has high performance Pontiac exhaust manifolds, delbrock carb and intake manifold and high performance exhaust. In 1966 if a GTO had an automatic transmission it was a 2 speed Powerglide. This car has a Turbo Hydromatic 400 3 speed automatic transmission that has been rebuilt. It has373 rear gears and I think it is a posi but, honestlyam not sure. With the engine, ransmission,HI PO upgrades and especially the rear end, his car is blinding fast. It hasbeen in my garage and has not been driven in a while. I would change theoil and maybe tune it up to have it running at its best. It has correct GTO ralley wheels, nd white letter tires. The tires have a lot of tread but they are aged and I would replace them. It has a complete AC system and it operates but probably needs charged. I just put a new battery in the car. There are three flaws to be pointed out, paint ding in the nose piece, ding in the bright work at the bottom of driver's side rear window and a crack in the steering wheel. It has an am radio but it is not installed and it needs a speaker. The car has a nice paint job, would say a 8.5 out of 10, he interior is all new and it great shape.

This car is great looking, uns great and I know of no hidden problems. If you email me and ask if I think you could drive it from Dallas to Alaska and have no problems, am not going to answer that question. If you want to try that, t is your decision and I make no commitment that it will make any trip without problems. Remember, his car is 50 years old. I would say it is a cruiser, ot a road car. If you have any questions, ontact me via ebay and I will do my best to answer them.

This car is sold as, here is, here is no warranty and the shipping is all the buyer's expense. I will help by agreeing to meet any transporter as needed.
