Selling a very rare, low mile, original, survivor, same owner last 18 years.REAL DEAL 1970 'CUDA 383 CONVERTIBLE IN SHOW CONDITION
Big Block Mopars have risen to the top of the 70s collector car market. The ‘Cuda has risen to the top of the Mopars. The Ultra Rare Real Deal ‘CUDA Convertibles are the most coveted of ALL. Add the desirable original DNA attributes that this ‘Cuda is a documented factory 383 with very low original miles, rust free, a very original vehicle having 90% of its factory born with parts including the number matching engine, is in show condition and you have one extremely desirable collector Mopar. There were only a total of 529 “BS27” REAL DEAL ‘Cuda Convertibles built in 1970 in all engine sizes ranging from the small block 340s to the KING 426 Hemi. ONLY 138 Real FACTORY ‘Cuda convertibles were produced in 1970 having the 383-4V motor paired to the H.D. 727 TorqueFlite trans like this one. 138 is an incredibly low number to start with, so taking into consideration how many have been lost to time and of those handful remaining how few have under 49K miles, zero rust, matching #s engine, and possess 90% of their original born with parts? My guess is less than 10 possibly have all these qualities in one vehicle making this one extremely rare and desirable commodity.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR INTERESTED PARTIES:
This Cuda is a very low mile survivor vehicle that retains 90% of the original assembly line born with parts. I purchased the Cuda around 2002 and starting in 2005 it was carefully taken apart down to the unibody and given a high quality show paint job in its original factory color of lime green iridescent. The underside was also detailed duplicating the existing original correct factory finishes with correct overspray, black out treatment, and factory markings. The “X” & “sideways 4” marking you see on the rear differential and axle housing is the actual original untouched factory marking applied by the assembly line worker in Sept '69 during its original assembly. Nearly all the original born with parts were cleaned / detailed and simply reinstalled maintaining the original factory finishes where possible. This ‘Cuda remarkably retains its original: gas tank, all steel tubing brake & fuel lines, brackets/ clips, much of its original exhaust including orig born with manifolds/header pipe/chrome tips, original exhaust heat shields with original finish, ALL orig misc emblems, weather striping, window door felts, original firewall pad, electrical wiring harnesses, all original glass including windshield & rear window, original convert top, all stainless trim, plastic lenses, center console, front interior door panels, rear interior side panels, window cranks, door handles, arm rest, kick panels, sun visors, seat belts, rear seat upholstery, even the original body gaskets were re-used, and so much more… The front grill is amazing still having the original born with factory applied textured argent finish and original black out. The interior metal dash face still has the original black paint applied by the factory 50 years ago. And yes, that is the factory original MINT PERFECT dash pad that is still pliable! All the under dash items like vents, heater box, cables, vent pulls, defrost vent, throttle pedal, brake pedal components, rubber foot pads, emergency brakes mechanism, bolts, brackets, clips, etc… were just cleaned and reinstalled as the original factory finishes still look like new. Same for many items under the hood: starter relay, blower motor housing, wiper unit, engine wire harness, etc.. cleaned and re-installed. The vacuum brake booster canister is the original one installed on the assembly line and was simply painted to look factory new again. Even many of the original plastic wire looms straps were reused as well. Bottom line, this really is one of the most original ‘Cuda convertibles you will ever find having nearly every part it was born with still present including the majority of its original interior, exhaust components, chrome, & trim parts. Even the original 1970 front and rear California "blue" license plates are still present that it left the dealership with!
The chrome 15” road wheels (Magnum 500s) seen in the pictures are mounted with reproduction Goodyear Polyglas F-60X15 front and G-60X15 rears which look stunning. (A correct 15”X 7" argent Rally Rim set mounted with original GT Polyglas Goodyear tires I use for showing will be included with the sale). The matching numbers 383-4V in this Cuda has been upgraded with a full roller cam-lifter-rocker set up, source 440 stealth aluminium heads, aluminium high volume water pump with housing, aluminium intake, modern carb, MSD / electronic ignition, MSD coil, low restriction stainless steel mufflers, custom high efficiency radiator, etc…done for reliability so this 'Cuda is road ready yet retains a near all original factory stock appearance as everything is virtually invisible or well hidden. (I still have original motor parts retained but not installed which will be included with the sale). The 335 horse-power HP 383s have always been great performers stock even "back in the day" with super dependability. The "U" code 440 or "V" code 440+6 option in a real Cuda convertible currently will set you back an extra $200K to $500K, so the HP 383 "N" code Camando is a great value with plenty of room to appreciate. The H.D. non #s TorqueFlite trans has a shift kit plus a slightly higher stall torque converter. The vintage pistol grip shifter assembly is a very rare and an expensive high quality unit that looks fantastic, functions perfectly, and really adds to the driving and visual experience. The original simulated wood “ball-style” shifter knob with thumb button comes with the Cuda as well and only takes loosening a set screw to switch back. The ‘Cuda handles and stops well due to chassis, suspension and brake component upgrades. Open the trunk and you will find it is beautiful down to the original trunk pan, original assembly line applied seam sealer, jack assembly, bumper hook, air canister, and inflatable spare tire. The details of this ‘Cuda down to the original black finish and metal tags applied at the factory on the original seat frames is beautiful.
So this is a rare opportunity to buy the REAL-DEAL '70 CUDA 383 survivor instead of a “cloned-wannabe-Cuda”. I am selling my prized ‘Cuda as I just do not have the inclination any longer to do shows, so the Cuda has just been sitting in the garage collecting dust for several years. I am ready to pass this very rare, desirable, true collector car on to the next lucky benefactor. I am starting the bidding off at a very low reasonable price and will let the market determine the value. I will include all the extra parts mentioned above plus more which I feel has an estimated value in the $8K to $10K range.
This vehicle is over 50 years old and the warranty ran out a long time ago. There is no warranty and it is being sold as is. Inspections during the auction run time prior to your placing a bid are highly encouraged as this is not being sold as a perfect or flawless vehicle, but a super original older vehicle. Couple of minor imperfections that come to mind are the thin plastic pointer end on the working odometer just recently broke off and the convertible top is original and has a patch were someone cut it to gain access because they lacked having the door key. Once the auction is over, inspection time is ended and it is time for the winner to pay for the vehicle and arrange for pick up. Auction winner responsible for pick-up, transportation and all related cost to purchasing this vehicle. The ‘Cuda has a clean clear California title with no back fees that is in my name which the new owner will receive. I recently moved from California to Georgia just north of Atlanta and that is where the ‘Cuda is now located and must be picked up.
I am a very long time Ebay seller with 100% feedback and have sold several of my vehicles to very happy buyers (pics of those cars in album: NOTE-the Boss 302 you see I recently sold on eBay only shows the deposit received, actual sold price was $70K). Vehicle does not leave my possessionuntil my bank confirms all funds are 100% good, valid, and in my account.
