1992 Laser RS Manual 5Spd Turbo AWD WITH EXTRAS.
1992 Laser (Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX equivalent / Eagle Talon equivalent) 5 speed, turbo, turbocharged, 4g63/4g64 AWD machine. Silver exterior / gray interior (interior in poor condition, expected to strip, prime, and install a bucket drivers seat, and possible roll cage). 1G DSM (Diamond Star Motors) stroker with 4g64 crank.
This started as a standard Laser RS rebuild after one of the pistons/valves blew out. After undertaking a massive rebuild / upgrade process detailed below, with the intention of running the drag strip / road course,I abandoned the project to attend university and never got the opportunity to return and finish the project. It now has to leave its spot and find a new owner, so my loss is your gain, about 500 hours and $20k in parts included.
Custom parts purchased new or professionally machined (NAPA machine shop, various race shops around Midwest)
Heads:+2mm CNC ported.Crower Stg3 cams.155lb/f dual spring springs/TI retainers.+2mm Sodium valves (SBR).
Block:1G First Gen 4g63 ( DSM Diamond Star Motors), blueprinted and honed, decked, cylinders +2mm.
Bottom end:4g64 (2.4L) stroker crank, balanced and lightened.Billet 4g63 Manley (SBR) rods, custom forged / shot peened.Forged Ross racing pistons, Custom forged for cylinders and stroker, skirt coated, face ceramic coated, +2mm.Balance rod delete.
Charge:GT4294R ball bearing twin scroll turbo, ~$2900 value, 1.44A/R.SBR custom intake.75mm "mustang" throttle body / matching piping.SBR custom equal length welded stainless exhaust.2x Tial 55mm wastegate.1x Tial BOV.Hotwire MAF with translator.1x SBR "large" FMIC.Adjustable FPR with gauge.Turbo-X ceramic applied to both exhaust manifold and turbo.
Transmission:Standard 4G63 5speed 5SP manual AWD, plus:Rebuild and blueprinted with 0mi at Team Rip Engineering, Kalamazoo MI, added 10% 1st and 5th gears.EXEDY dual plate clutch (stage 4, 550NM), new master/slave, steel lines everywhere.NHRA compliant flywheel shield.
Misc:1600cc balanced injectors installed.AN6 braided stainless fuel line everywhere.Walboro 255LPH (with converters) installed.Short shifter / bushing kit installed.AFR, EGT, Boost, Oil Pressure gauge. Pillar mount.Aluminum radiator / electric fans.Misc tools, documents/manuals, purchase orders/invoices.Tow-bar installed on front, included.
Body:
Hardly a speck of rust on it! Take a look at the pictures, the exterior condition looks above average for the 28 year old car in my opinion.New brakes, pads, fresh fluids in everything, fresh drive shafts, fresh bushings, battery trunk relocation, the list goes on.

Needed to finish project to running condition: Custom tune to match components (It ran good for an initial clearance test for ~10min on engine stand when built / installed, in 2010). Battery charged or replaced. Gas tank drained/flushed/filled. Fluid change (Engine was fogged in with Sta-Bil fogging solution, 2010, and has sat idle since then.) Professional ECM re-Tuning. (won't run well without proper injector duty cycle, timing, boost curve, etc. programmed and tuned. Expect 800-1000HP from this heavily modified DSM platform.) Turbo-back exhaust.
