1970 Plymouth Road Runner

This 1970 Plymouth Road Runner came from the factory with some of the best features around, and it was expertly restored to showcase them correctly. This has the best mix of vintage and new â€" that's why you have the original 383 V8 and four-speed stick... but now with overdrive! So dig into the details on an award-winning total package. High Impact colors are the kind of thing we all look for on a Mopar. So to have a Road Runner born in the bold Tor-Red is already quite alluring. It only gets better on an example that had a full rotisserie restoration in 2006 and has been treated with respect ever since. That's why this sought-after color has an amazing radiance in the sunshine that people will spot from blocks away. And this is not the only part of the paint package that excites. The triple hood stripe pays tribute to true Mopar muscle and emphasizes the power bulge. And the yellow Road Runner graphics on each side remind you about how this coupe can leave everyone else in the dust. Wide chrome bumpers, hood pins, and polished Mag wheels complete a package that's both bright and aggressive. The black vinyl interior pairs well with the fiery orange and black on the outside. Plus, the factory-correct pattern on these seats with the white bordering is more intricate than you would expect on a Plymouth. This restored interior has a great period-correct feeling, right down to the AM/FM radio. These were midsize muscle cars of the day, but that designation in the '60s means full-size comfort today. So there's plenty of room to have up to five family and friends riding with you, but you don't need any of them to have fun with this Road Runner. It feels like a driver's car from the moment you grab the factory three-spoke wheel (power steering). Beyond that is a full gauge package, including a large speedo and tach. That last one is particularly handy when paired with the iconic pistol-grip shifter. Road Runners are true vintage muscle machines, and since the paint and interior on this one capture that feeling perfectly, it's great to see the engine bay filled with Mopar power. It's the original numbers-matching 383 cubic-inch big block that was rated at 335 hp by the factory, and it looks terrific with the Mopar orange block nestled within the orange engine bay. You really get that vintage feeling with the classic air topper and the correct BEEP! BEEP! horn. Of course, you'll really love what makes this one go vroom! vroom! The big V8 has an upgraded Holley dual-feed four-barrel carburetor and a Mallory distributor & ignition. It creates a motor that fires up readily and inhales deeply. The dual exhaust lets this one exhale with authority. But don't just listen to its thunder; follow its path in the undercarriage photos. There you'll see how clean the total restoration is, and you'll also spot a few subtle upgrades like the thicker front sway bar, stronger 489 rear case, and tubular traction bars. Best of all, you are in complete control of this Road Runner thanks to the original A833 four-speed manual transmission. And now that it has been enhanced with a Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive, this really makes for an all-around terrific cruiser. The sale comes with some impressive paperwork, including the factory broadcast sheet, owner's manual, build receipts, and restoration photos. Plus, you also get the awards that prove how much of a quality build this is. Don't let this Road Runner slip away, call today!
