Description:

1983 Plymouth Horizon

2.2 Liter, Front Wheel Drive, Automatic floor shift transmission. 117,00 original miles! Body is solid, no holes, no rust besides stone chips, dents and scrapes. This car survived Michigan's winters and appears to have never been driven in the show. Frame and floors are solid and have Ziebart undercoating. I do have the rear aluminum bumper with attachment crush cans. Rear bumper needs to be re-attached. Front plastic valance shield is from a GLH and was installed by the 2nd owner, who I bought it from and only owned it a few months. I am the 3rd owner and purchased the car in November 2017. The original front valance panel appears to be behind this black GLH shield. Second owner felt he could make a GLH clone and that's as far as he made it. The interior is in nice shape, even has the cargo area carpet package tray with side strings that pull it up when the lift gate is lifted, for easy trunk access. There are no tears in the seats or door trim panels but carpet does need to be removed and shampooed from a smelly carburetor that was stored on the floor....not belonging to this car. Transmission works great! Engine starts and runs but not well due to needing a tune up or a carb cleaning but a friend/mechanic of mine believes that the cat. converter is plugged, since many seniors only take short drives and do not drive the car very often, which prevents the cat. converter getting up to normal hot temperatures and this causes the cats to clog and block the exhaust with the honeycomb material inside the cat. converter, jamming up and restricting the exhaust to escape the pipe. I recommend looking at this first. The drivers exterior door handle is new and waiting in the box, which was a common failure on these cars. The lever, internally, that the handle catches on, is not broke and the door can still be opened with giving the handle the special "lift and twist" toward the top right, and she will open. If you've owned one of these cars, this brings back memories! No cracked glass, windows go up and down, rear defrost works, radio powers up but needs antenna wire re-connected under the dash. The 2nd owner was going to put in his own custom radio....thank God that did not go through. She is a well preserved car. When was the last time you saw one of these roll into the cruise night! Drive her back to your High School Reunion or enjoy the "Double Takes" you get when you drive by people and they take a quick second look. Exterior paint is original....small dent on the left front fender can be pulled out, paint was not damaged. Get a pint of matching paint from an automotive paint supplier and use a touch up brush to dab the small stone chips and it will look awesome! This car was senior owned and bought new from the Chrysler Plymouth Dealer in Highland, Michigan near Chrysler's Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
