1984 Plymouth Voyager LEOne of a Kind! The first year Original Chrysler Minivan, with 5sp manual transmission! Canadian vehicle, built in Windsor.
PLEASE READ AD CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING AN OFFER!
Puchased from the original owner over three years ago, who traded in his Corvette for a this new "family vehicle". Original Dealer bill of sale is included. Appraised at $5000 CAD in 2014.
NB! Odometer reading not accurate! The odometer has gone around the clock at least once and is metric showing kilometers. The previous owner was elderly and ill, and didn't provide me with the vehicle's complete history, so exact mileage is unknown.
The van has been very well maintained over the years, there is however some rust developed around the left rear wheelwell, as well as the rockers. The photos do not show all of the corrosion. The buyer could probably drive it for years without investing in rust repairs, but sooner or later the rust will need to be addressed.
Engine, transmission, and clutch works well, transmission is a stiff to shift when the vehicle is cold' but gets better when warmed up. It seems the cable sleeve is affected by being too close to exhaust heat (may be fixed by moving and lubricating, or replacing the shifter cable).
It has a stainless steel exhaust system, which almost never rot. It has factory heavy duty suspension, shocks, struts, and springs are in good condition.
Brakes, steering, work well. Replaced CV and half shaft on one side two years ago, at the time the mechanic said it may need replacement on other side in the near future but i've been driving it without any issues since.
It has power streering, power brakes, intermittent wipers, cruise control (which currently doesn't work), original AM/FM/Cassette stereo which works, Air condtioning which is disconnected (due to dated freon system which is no longer legal in Canada). There is a kit availabe to upgrade these a/c systems.
It's a LE (Luxury Edition) model. Front two bucket seats are from a newer model minivan, rear seats are original. Most of the trim is in good condition, except passenger sunvisor is sun stained, and theres some minor wear and shrinkage on both door and side panel trim. The dashboard is in relatively good condition and has no cracks.
It has manual windows, including the remote crank for opening rear quarter windows from the driver's seat, which works. The rear tailgate opens with a key (electric remote no longer works), the liftgate struts are a bit tired and do not keep the tailgate open in a horizontal position (see photos).
Comes with original factory repair manuals.
*One repair immediatly required: Just as i posted this ad, my sister's neighbor just backed into the minivan, taking out the left taillight and pushing in the bumper end cap. I doubt i will have this fixed before sale (due to lack of time). See last photo.
I have several spare parts, including front grille and headlamp bezels (unfortunately no taillight and bumper cap).
