VIN # RS27L9G165569
Located near PORTLAND, OREGON.
Produced at the St. Louis Plymouth factory, this is one of only 701 GTX convertibles produced in the 1969 model year. As-built, this car was equipped with a 440 ci, 375 HP V8 with 4 bbl carb and 4-speed automatic transmission.
About 10 years ago this GTX underwent a full restoration to show level with an upgrade to fully rebuilt period 426 Hemi engine. Dual 4 bbl carbs. Rated at 425 HP at 5000 RPM. 0-60 MPH in 4.8 seconds. 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst floor shifter. 4.10:1 rear end. Yes, it's fast! LESS THAN 200 MILES SINCE RESTORATION.
Body and paint are gorgeous. NO RUST. Finished in correct "Blue Fire" color. Re-plated chrome and trim are exceptional. Chrome Rallye wheels with redline tires. Interior is very correct, with white vinyl GTX bucket seats, woodgrained center console and trim. Working factory AM radio. Working Heater/Defroster. Power black vinyl top is like new and operates perfectly. White top boot. Undercarriage is restored and shows beautifully. Please see photos.
This car has been part of a prominent collection in the Pacific Northwest. It is only due to the passing of the owner that the family is now offering it for sale.
Overall, this is a spectacular and faithful tribute to the ultra-rare Hemi GTX Convertible (only 2 of the 11 originals are known to exist today) at a fraction of the price. Ready to show or go anywhere.
