1970 Plymouth Roadrunner 440+6 Hardtop (RM23V0GXXXXXX)

Highlights:

1 of 433 Roadrunner V-code (440+6) hardtops produced for 1970 with the 727 Automatic Transmission.

Includes the desirable "Air Grabber Hood" option, "Hood Turn Signal Lights" and "Bucket Seats"!

Build date of 7/10/70, which was the second Friday of the final month of production. Usually production for the model year ended on Friday after the second week of the month (as per Galen Goviers’ production code book).

This is likely one of the last 440 Six Barrel Roadrunner’s produced in 1970! Could it be the last one?

Have the original Broadcast Sheet and copy of title from previous owner purchased from in 1995.

Restoration completed 15 years ago and still looks fantastic. Always garaged and covered. Driven less than 3K miles since completed. Multi-time Mopars at Englishtown show winner, including the last time entered in 2013.

Engine and transmission are NOT numbers matching. Engine block is the correct# 2536430casting with a 1970 VIN. All other body numbers and tags match. Vehicle shows 35,615 miles. Mileage is believed to be original. The previous owner stated the vehicle sat dormant in a garage for many years before he purchased it.

Vehicle is solid and retains all original sheet metal and vinyl top! Only a few small patches were welded in during restoration. Body is super straight and painted in original B-5 Bright Blue Metallic using PPG Deltron Base/Clear and looks fantastic. Engine compartment is detailed to stock appearance, including the correct 2998956 heavy duty 26” radiator. Has date coded spark plug wires, alternator, regulator, correct hoses and clamps and reproduction Mopar Battery. Fully functional and detailed “Air Grabber Hood!”

Six Barrel carburetors rebuilt and plated by the Holley Custom Shop. Rebuilt and plated 3-speed wiper motor. Rebuilt and detailed power steering gear. Steering column restored by SMS.

Grille and headlamp bezels restored by MCRS. Re-chromed front and rear bumpers. NOS hood lip molding. Aluminized exhaust with H-pipe and correct hemi mufflers. The great sounding exhaust exits through a set of NOS chrome tips. All new brake and fuel lines installed, as well as a new fuel tank and sending unit.

The black bucket seat interior is beautifully restored. The door panels, seats, console and carpet are all in excellent condition. Dash bezels all restored. Instrument cluster gauges restored to new condition by APT instruments. Gauges are silk screened (same as new, no overlay decals used) and are clear & bright and look awesome. All gauges work, including the clock which was updated. Original Seat Belts restored by Ssnake Oyl. Jack assembly restored to new. Dash pad does have one small crack that is barely noticeable.

The Hemi suspension gives the car a great looking stance. Rides on Good Year Eagle GT radials mounted on 15 x 7 front and 15 x 8 rear, reproduction rally wheels with factory correct center caps and trim rings.

The list goes on. Have loads of receipts to document.

Changes from stock as follows:

Mopar electronic ignition was added to improve performance.

Originally a bucket seat car with a column shift. Was changed to more desirable floor shifted console, using all the correct parts.

The rear differential gear ratio was changed from 3.55 to 3.91.

An aftermarket Pioneer stereo is installed in stock location, with a Soundstream amplifier added in the trunk. All speakers are installed in the factory locations. (Absolutely no metal was cut and no holes drilled.)Can easily be converted back to stock.Original AM-8 Track radio (option code R22) comes with the car.
