1967 Plymouth GTX
The big news in 1967 was that each one of the three manufacturers in Detroit had at least one of their divisions producing a serious muscle car. Chrysler’s Plymouth Division was no different and produced as one of their super high end muscle cars, the 1967 Plymouth GTX HEMI. The MOPAR HEMI in the GTX is rated at 425 horse power. Many people have said that the HEMI in the GTX is a perfect blend of style and substance. Not too flashy or gaudy but classy touches through out that let you know that you are in a higher end car. In short the 1967 GTX was one of the first true luxury muscle cars by Chrysler. A HEMI with a 4-speed could easily terrify all the other muscle cars on the street. Many say that the psychology for the 1967 Plymouth GTX was “talk softly and carry a big stick”. The following are the facts and information about the GTX HEMI in this ad which is in absolutely phenomenally great condition and in one of the best color schemes you can get.
If you have ever owned or driven a HEMI as one of members at MissChiTown has you will find out that they just wind up forever in each gear. It seems that there is no end to the RPMs, of course there comes a time when you have to shift into the next gear.
Just check out the specs and condition of this original factory HEMI as per the owner. Just about every manufacturer by the late 1970s produced some type of muscle car. The ultimate and true legends always seem to rest with HEMI’s from the Chrysler corporation and most of those can be found in their Plymouth division. We just love the color scheme of the car in this ad and the condition.

All four original hubcaps will come with the car. The car also has a full set of four Magnum style chrome wheels that were an option in 1967. The elderly seller only drives the car a few hundred miles each summer. He always changes the oil and lubricates it every year before driving it. He said the oil always looks like new when he checks it. He puts on the bigger wheels and tires on the back only when he drives it.
Picture of the original hubcaps.
The paint was done in the original factory colors it came in about 5-6 years ago, it is very nice and has no scratches and no dents.
The interior is the original pattern and color but was a reproduced interior.
It has been an ongoing project since he bought it in 1989 until about 7-8 years ago.
Most of the big pieces of chrome have been replated (some small interior chrome pieces were not re-plated).
All stainless was re-polished.
The original engine was all rebuilt and upgraded with an electronic ignition and upgraded with hydraulic lift cam shaft.
The seller said he believes the mileage of 44,000 to be original but can’t verify.
This is believed to be the only car produced in 1967 in this two tone color combination.
The original blue & white build sheet is hidden under the seat but he faxed us a duplicate copy.
The car also has its original warranty card called “Certicard”.
