This 1937 Packard 120C 4-door sedan has suicide doors and is abeautiful black with a clear coat that makes it just sparkle in the sunshine. We won the people's choice award in May 2016 at a little local car show! And she won 3rd place at an AACA show in 2009 and 2010! This car isn't just beautiful, sheruns great! The owner survived a widow-maker heart attack, andif he didn't have to sell this carto pay off some bills, he would be keepingher! He loves this car and has taken excellent care of her!
The car is located in ZIP Code 21043, but she came to usall the way from Boise, Idaho on a car transport truck when the owner bought her sight un-seen (except for some pictures) when he purchased her online! Look closely at the photos, this car still has her 1937 Manual anda 1937 Parts List that come with her!
In Summer 2016, Owner installed new brake master cylinder, installed new muffler, anddiscovered that thegas gauge meter behind dash does not work, soU will have toremember to"fill'erup" before U head out on a day trip!The brakes & bearings are in good condition. Owner has installed dual fans toassist thecoolant system, andthe car has not overheated as many from this era are prone to do.
In 2002, Owner purchased, overhauled, and installeda replacement 1937 Packard engine sonumbers do not match on theengine and thefirewall;the original engine was recycled.Over the years, Owner has rebuilt starter, distributor, carburator, and water pump. Installed New radiator and Under dash heater. Installed new wiring harness on12-volt electrical system. Installed battery shut-off system under driver seatthat haseasy access from back of driver's seat (see photos):No need to remove or lift the front seat to access. The battery shut off system can be used to jump start car.
This car has stunning 4.5-inch white wall tires bias, ply withinner tubes. Owner upgraded hub caps & beauty rims.The previous owner had the car reupholsteredin tan color with brown floor carpet and installed seatbelts in the car. However,the carstill has the original 1937 rubber around thewindows,which has caused minor imperfections in the upholsterythat were present when purchased from previous owner. We have kept the car in the garage since we have had it.
That beautiful art deco dash clock does not work--maybe the new owner can work on that and the gas gauge at the same time! There is always something that needs to be done on these old cars!
The car has a 3-speed manual transmission, andOwner installed anew clutch and throw-out bearing;making sure the clutch plate was properly positioned.Owner had the gas tank cleaned and coated. All four fenders have protective under coating, and there is new rubber on therunning boards.
There is an AM/FM radio and a 1-CD player hidden in glove box, and thespeakers are hidden under the back of the front seat (see photos).Owner installed aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauges under thedash.
This beauty has the original 1937 un-restored chrome on front & rear bumpers, front grill, and hood vents!
Buyer is responsible for all costs associated with inspection (if required by Buyer's state), pick-up, shipping, tags, title, etc. The car is for sale as is, with no state inspection because none is required here in Maryland.Buyer will have to either pick up or arrange his/her own shipping.
If Buyer, like the Seller, is buying the car long distance and cannot pay in person with a cashier's check, then the balance due will have to clear through PayPal to the Owner's bank account before Owner will release the car to the Buyer's agent or shipper.
Should Buyer not be present when car is loaded for transport, Seller will send Buyer video of loading process in case anything happens during transport. Seller will also have Buyer's agent or shipper sign a simple 1-sentence paper stating that the car was in thecondition was as listed and photographed here whenit was put in their possession. Seller will not be held accountable for anydamage that occurs during loading, shipping, unloading, or after shipping. Seller willsend Buyervideo of the loading, and a .pdf copy of the signed paper stating car was in as-listed condition when received by agent/shipper.
