Description:

1965 Other Makes CHECKER

~~~TODAY I GOT IT TO CRANK AND IT PURRED LIKE A KITTEN(JUST LIKE MY '68 DOES). I PUT NEW PLUG/COIL WIRES ON IT AND RAN IT OFF OF A CAN OF BERRYMANS CARB CLEANER, BUT THEN, IT WASN'T GETING ANY FIRE SO I CLEANED POINTS WHICH WAS A LITTLE CORRODED BUT THEN STILL NO FIRE SO I THINK IT'S EITHER A BAD RESISTOR OR A BAD COIL SO I JUST BOUGHT BOTH HERE OFF OF EBAY, WILL BE INCLUDED IN SALE. I NOTICED 2 FREEZE PLUGS THAT NEEDED REPLACING SO I BOUGHT TOO, JUST NEED TO PUT THEM ON.~~~
*** PREVIOUSLY LISTED BUT I ENDED EARLY BECAUSE OF A "BUYER" WHO DID NOTHING BUT WASTE MY TIME. SO PLEASE, ONLY HIT BUY IT NOW IF U R SERIOUS AND IF U HAVE THE $ TO PAY FOR IT.***
WHAT A TIME CAPSULE(FIRST PIC IS ONLY PIC OF IT AFTER I WASHED THAT SIDE, LAST PIC SHOWN W/MY '68, THAT'S ONLY 28-30 YEAR'S WORTH OF DUST ON THEIR ROOFS, PAINT IS FINE ON ITS ROOF)!
I recently bought 2 Checker's from a private collector who had owned both for30 year's.
This one is the NICER one of the two!
I chose to keep the other, a '68 because it has an auto trans(my wife wants to drive it too after I make it look NICE).
I would honestly keep this one too but BLUE is not my color and this one is too nicely restored in BLUE to do a color change on it('68 is blue too putI'm going to change its color to PURPLE).
So anyways, I just bought them last week and I had both delivered to me just this past Friday.
Already, I have my '68 running(took me a whopping 15-20 minutes to get it cranked, no kidding).
NOT TOO BAD FOR A CAR THAT SAT FOR 28 YEAR'S(GOTTA LOVE FINDING A CLASSIC CAR THAT HAD BEEN KEPT IN DRY STORAGE, THIS MAKES ALL OF THE DIFFERECE IN THE WORLD)!
Ialso threw a battery into this '68 for a second and it's not froze up, in fact it spins NICELY!
Probably after new plug/coil wires, freshening up carb, it too will be purring like a kitten just as my '68 does!
AND OF COURSE THE "BEST" PART IS, I DO NOT C ANY RUST ON IT!
PREVIOUS OWNER TOO STATED THAT IT HAD NO RUST AND I SURLY DO NOT C ANY MYSELF?!
I SAW IT UNDERNEATH A LITTLE BIT WHENEVER IT WAS ON ROLLBACK THAT BROUGHT IT TO ME AND UNDERNEATH LOOKED GREAT/SOLID(MINUS BEING A LITTLE DIRTY).
SO, IF U R A CHECKER GUY LIKE I AM THEN U KNOW HOW RARE IT IS TO FIND ONE WITHOUT ANY RUST(MUCH LESS NOT RUSTED TO DEATH).
And, it makes since that all of the restoration previously done wouldn't have been done if powertrain wasn't what it should be.
Car is all there minus radio, hubcaps, and 1 red tail light.
Oh, and no keys(however my '68's key works, turns on its ignition so I guess any old GM key of this eracan be used in its ignition?.
ALL glass in in super NICE condition!
AGAIN, EVERY BODY PANEL, FLOORBOARD, TRUNK FLOOR LOOKS AWESOME FROM ALL OF IT I C!
Clutch pedal has GR8 pressure(obviously car has NO BRAKES from sitting for close to 3 decades).
Recent tire's were put on it and it rolls easily/freely for shipping/loading.
There is a box full of misc parts inside on trunk, also, front seat seat brackets/bolts r inside of trunk.
I believe I c chrome trim for rear window inside of trunk?.
Interior is super NICE minus on rear seat where I guess a mouse ate through 3 places onseat(so this will need to be addressed).
Interior has rt at 30 year's worth ofdust/dirt on it(and a little mildew which is mostly on headliner, headliner tho is in super nice condition).
Horn car wasn't on steering wheel, I laid it in place for pic but Ithen put it back inside of trunk.
Steering wheel too has some mold build up from sitting.
Chrome is dull, tarnished, etc but I hit a few places with some steel wool and those places shined AWESOMELY!
And, this is really all I know to say about it(which isn't bad I don't think, especially since I've only had it in my possession a whopping2.5 day's).
Title was lost to both but both were/r in his name and duplicate for this one is already being processed, if sold quickly I willFedEx it to u as soon as it hits me.
I TRULY BELIEVE THAT I'M PRICING IT VERY FAIRLY, ESPECIALLYAFTER DOING AN ONLINE SEARCH FOR ALL CHECKER'S THAT R F/S OUT THERE, SOME PRICES FOR SOME R INSANELY HIGH!
AND I'M TELLING U HERE, COSMETICALLY THIS CAR IS THERE RT NOW, AFTER ADDRESSING REAR SEAT ISSUE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, ADDING A RADIO, ADDING HUBCAPS, AND ETC, THIS IS A VERY PRESENTABLE CAR!!!
AND I SAW A FEW SCRATCHES HERE/THERE BUT ABSOLUTELY NO BIG DEAL(JUST UR TYPICAL TYPE OF DEAL HERE)!
IF U POP ITS BUY IT NOW, A NON REFUNDABLE $500 PAYPAL IS DUE IMMEDIATELY AND THEN FULL PAYMENT WILL BE DUE WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAY'S(EITHER CASH IN PERSON OR A BANK WIRE TRANSFER).
ALSO, IF NEEDED I CAN RECOMMEND A FAST/RELIABLE AUTO TRANSPORTER, ONE WHO I HAVE PERSONALLY USED FOR OVER 15 YEAR'S.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
