This is an original 1962 Sunbeam Alpine with 32,510 original miles. This car has the original Dunloptiresfrom the factory. Original paint, engine, interior, convertible top and tonneau cover.I rebuilt the engine and was careful not to disturb any of the original patinaI have the original, not a copy of the bill of sale at aSunbeamdealer inRockfordIllinois, have the original dealer brochures and the key fob given to the owner at the time of sale. This car runs and drives, shifts through all gears. The tires hold air but I would not trust them at highway speeds. The muffler is rusted and the tailpipe is gone but that's it.The original owner has done some after market work, like sidelights that work, an altimeter and all sorts ofsafetylights under the dash like fasten seat belts and a brake light indicator, air horns, but the original horns work perfect. This car should be seen by a potential buyer, it has always been garaged, always. No frame rust, the dealer applied seal coat is mostly there and where itisn't, there is metal, full thickness excellent condition.I am listing this car with the hope of finding a collector, I am sure that it is one of the best survivors of thismodelin the world. The headlights are original Lucas and work.If you are interested in this car you can make an offer, but I stronglyrecommendthat serious buyers call me direct. I am looking for someone who wants this car, as is, original. You will not see a car like this ever again.Text for all 74 new pics I also have 87 additional pictures right off of the InterCity closed carrier when I got the car (5 years ago), many engine pics of the rebuild, car is on lift, covered, and I can take any pic you want on any section of this car.TEXT (631) 774-9509, for pictures links. The lever on the steering column is not overdrive, it is thedirectionals, the other side is plugged, I do not know why this is but it is unique. I have the pair of Lucas driving lights for this car.The fuel tank was removed boiled out and sealed, the original lines were cleaned out and original fuel pump and carbsrebuilt.Pullout the choke and the carfiresright upimmediatelyand idles perfect. The guy that wants this car will come here, this is the real deal. The convertible top is tucked away in the rear compartment. All of the frame is there, including the two cross pieces you must remove to tuck away. The condition of the top is no rips but a yellow rear window. It is a pain to put up and down for pictures so I leave it tucked away. There are some pictures with the top up on delivery day pictures. I use the tonneau cover, excellent condition, brass zippers, came with the car. It is always in a garage unless I take it for a spin. Alldrivelinefluids are new, no leaks. Changed oil pump and strainer. Car is exceptional.John (631) 774-9509
I also have a hard top that did not come with this car ( Aluminum, good shape, needs paint), and does not go with this car but it is the original with all of the stainless trim, latches, headliner hoops and the rear window. I have sold all of my other Alpines and would consider giving the top to a buy it now buyer, otherwise it isadditional but is not for saleseparatelyuntil this car sellsCar has the original points, cap, rotor and spark plug wires and they are in excellent condition and work perfectly.
Serious buyers always callJohn (631) 774-9509
There is a good family storyaboutthe original owners anddocumentation. Was last registered in Illinois in 1983
In the trunk is the original spare, never used, and the hold down strap looks like brand new. There is a can of "spare tire" from the 60's, the little white short can, and the tool kit, kit is complete, not shown in pictures is the feeler gauge and a distributor adjustment tool (yellow plastic), they were in a bag tucked away in the tool pouch.
I was asked about the engine crank and it is in the clips in the trunk, I don't think it was ever taken out. Also sun visors are aftermarket AMCO green tinted lenses in perfect conditionClear legal Illinois title from the trustee of the estate I purchased this from so it is still a one owner car. Transfer was through the estate's attorneyI have had this car for 5 years
I was asked to take a picture under the dash and found one of the very old solid brassminiaturefireextinguishers well mounted in a clip justwithinreach of the driver.
Theowner enjoyed this car.

I have been sending picture links to interested parties and I got somefeedbackfrom one of them and I must address this issue.I took 87 pictures of the car 5 years ago, right off of the Intercity Auto Transport van. I took pictures of every inch of the car, sitting outside on the ground and up on the lift, quite a few bottom pictures. At some point, the dealer in Rockford Ill. or the owner, brush applied a thick undercoating to the car,(looks more like seam sealer). That coating is not everywhere, most of it fell off or is peeling back. This bidder saw this to be Bondo and it is not but it is peeling and I have done absolutely nothing as far as removing it or cleaning it or painting to hide anything and this is quite apparent in the pictures. I am presenting this car for what it is an original Alpine with actual 32,509 miles on it. Garaged always, even transported in a closed carrier. There is some surface rust on the frame which I did not try to hide, the car sat on blocks inside a garage in Rockford Illinois from 1983 until I purchased it in 2010. I have two pictures of the car in this garage. This bidder felt that the battery box is rotted out, it does have a hole from acid overflow but it is very strong, just a hole in a corner, where the batteryoverflowed. There is NO bondo on this car, the paint is original, there are a few touched up scratches and garage scrapes fromstorage in Illinois.A potential buyer interestedin this car should come and see it. You will have unlimited lift time to look the car over. You can go through all of the documentation on this car, take all the time you need. I will even get you a beer and some clams at the clam bar on the corner. The pictures are a complete andhonestrepresentation of this car. If I misrepresented the car, I will pay your travel expenses home.Thank you. My name is John and my phone number is (631) 774-9509Ask me any question, ask for a picture of any part of this car
