1951 Other Makes Commodore 6 COMMODORE 6 sedan

This is a very nice car, not rusty or covered in bondo. It was told to me that is was found in Ernest Hemingway's birthplace home in Chicago, ILL. Its low mileage is very evident in appearance inside and out. It drives like a new car. It starts and runs very quiet, steers very easy, gears all shift smoothly, and the factory overdrive engages smooth. It cruises effortless at 65-70 MPH. It has a new 10"clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, flywheel and a completely rebuilt bell-housing with frt. trans seal. There are no squeaks, rattles or vibrations when cruising at hwy. speeds. You can look at the serial plate in the door jam to see how nice the jams are. This is really the condition of the entire car. It does not have a matching numbers engine, but the engine is a '51, 262 with very low mileage as there is very little cylinder wear. I installed a new oil pump drive gear, which had very little wear. I chose to freshen up all the valves and valve guides to insure this would be a perfect used engine. I restored the intake and exhaust manifolds and removed the leakin, worn-out exhaust heat riser. The exhaust has been replaced and is good front to back. There are no noticeable leaks underneath the car. The fuel gauge and temp. gauge both work as they should. It has a reconditioned radiator in it,new thermostat and all heater hoses. The wiper motor works, but works slowly like most. The doors all close perfectly, with no slamming required. The windows all roll up and down nice with no dragging or hang up. The hood opens and closes without any binding or hanging up. The original interior is in very good shape, with the exception of 1 seam in the lower front seat cushion. The door panels are all in excellent shape, not all warped or torn. Most of the original front carpet is still mostly in place. I chose to simply clean it up, glued it down where it was sticking up and installed a new black rubber floor mat in front. The dash chrome is shin, the dash vinyl is almost perfect. It has been painted base coat, clear-coat, and is very straight and shiny.. The woodgrained dash and all the door valances are in good condition, still showing most of the graining. It has 4 new 225-75r15 radial tires mounted on this cars original wheels. It has 4 new gas charged shock absorbers, which makes the ride! The door locks and trunk lock work properly. It also has a new trunk seal installed. .This car has been completely serviced from front to back, and is ready to simply TURN the KEY, needing nothing to my knowledge. It has been driven about 400 trouble free miles. IMO, nice, low mileage, turn-key Hudsons don't come along very often. You would be hard pressed to find and restore a car like this for the BUY it NOW price.
