Lada 2106 is a modified and upgraded version of Lada 2103, which is considered an upscale Lada sedan. This makes Lada 2106 an upscale version of an upscale version.
Despite its higher status, especially in the USSR, there has been 4.3 million Lada 2106 produced overall. The production only stopped in 2005, and even though with years Lada 2106 lost its initial prestige, it was still beloved and appreciated by many. Interestingly, this model of Lada was a common vehicle on Canadian roads from 1979 until the mid-1980s, until replaced by newer Lada models.
