1967 Other Makes

This is a 1967 Morris Minor 1000 Tourer (convertible) sedan. It is in very original and very drivable condition. This is an original California black plate car that was sold new and lived most of its life in the Sunny Santa Barbara area of CA.
Underneath the car looks very clean and straight. The floors are very solid and it does not look to have ever had any of the floors replaced. The paint is original and it shows a very nice aged patina. Someone has polished up the right front wing (fender) and with a bit of effort the rest of the car could look the same. The chassis and body are largely very straight and rust free but there are some signs of rust at the bottom of both front wings and the drivers side bottom door hinge has a weld repair (see picture). There is also some damage and repair at the rear of the car. The bottom of the boot (trunk) lid has bondo and primer. In general the car has a really nice original look about it and could be classified as what collectors call a "Survivor".
The engine and drive train is all original. It starts easy and runs very nicely. It has good power, oesn't smoke and is quite drivable. It shifts through all gears without crunching or grinding. The clutch works perfect. The brakes are good and the hand brake works. The speedometer does not work and I really can't say what the actual mileage is (shows 23,000 on odometer). The fuel gauge seems to be working. The wipers, urn signals, eater blower, orn, arning lights all work. The charging system currently does not work. The electrics are 12 volt. The cooling system works great and the heater works.
The interior is also very original and a bit rough. The front passenger seat needs upholstery work. The drivers seat is not great but better. The convertible top is decent with just one rip where a top bow poked through it (see picture). The tires are old but decent and working.
It has not been licensed for quite some time but does have an older clear California title. There is a spare steering wheel included and it has a good spare tire and tools.
Overall this car is a good candidate for full restoration or to keep as original as possible and enjoy as is with just minor improvements. You can restore a car over and over but they are only original once.
