1972 Opel GT

No history surprises with this Opel GT. 2nd owner selling it. It was bought in June 1978 with 64,941 miles and driven as high school and college car. It was parked in an indoor storage garage in October 1984 with 77,667 miles and non-highway title in hand.In July 2019 the GT was removed from storage and cleaned up for sale. Gas tank & fuel line system was gone through and new complete front disc brake kit installed. Rear drum brakes cleaned and have good pads. Original radiator was re-cored and re-installed. Battery tray was removed as they all rust out. Spark plugs removed, cleaned & checked and installed. New gas added and car started immediately. Headlights work with inside throw lever. The GT had some body work done and re-painted in summer 1980. Car was never rear ended or crashed on the nose. Side quarters had some dents & rust and still shows some exterior rust. Underbody shows rust proofing coating coming off but no rust through floor pans or major structural rust. Has used tires on original rims. As with most older cars, you can drive as is or put in some of your own work to perfect it as you see fit.Car drives and stops as it should. Great GT for weekend toy or minor/major restoration. Pictures show interior condition as well; 2 tears in seat and 1 in headliner as well as usual cracks in dash. If you're looking you know these little gems are getting harder to find and most have no validated history behind them or complete original car.
