This example is made even more rare by the fact that it is still mostly original exterior and interior…and still stands tall!
For 1962, the Oldsmobile 88 received a “second-year” face-lift that included a revised grille and front bumper. Attributes of the 1962 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 included new roof lines and side scultpting and offered perfection and power with a new Rocket engine that delivers 280 hp. Standard features included Dual-Range power Heater and Defroster, Safety-Padded Instrument Panel, Full Floor Carpeting, Magic-Mirror Finish, Air-Scoop Brakes, Bright Aluminum Front Seat Side Panels, Oil Filter and more.
Finished in a mostly original Chariot Re, this sedan shows well with only imperfections visible on a car in this mostly original condition. The roof mirrors the finish of the lower body but in Provincial White. All the trim is present, complete and displays normal wear. The front and rear bumpers fit is extremely tight and finish is exquisite, however we did notice a very small dent on the front bumper. The weather-stripping is pliable, with normal signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The original 14 inch wheels represent well with only slight signs of marring.
Inside, the two-tone combination red and white trim vinyl seats all look great with no major signs of unusual wear visible. The white headliner show well and continues the on-going theme of the car. The door panels compliment the seats and dashboard (although showing a little wear) is designed to mirror the cabin and compliment the exterior of the car. All gauges in original condition, display properly and function as designed. The originally equipped steering wheel displays and shows well with just a little wear cracking. The factory carpet is complete and compliments the rest of the cabin. Also the car comes equipped with the original Oldsmobile “transistor” AM radio.
This “88” is equipped with a 2 barrel carbureted (280 hp) 394cid V8 cylinder engine, mated to a 3-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission .Included is power steering and power brakes 14 inch original equipment exterior matching steel wheels with full Oldsmobile hub caps and whitewall tires.
This Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 will take you back to a simpler time of the early sixties, this mostly original example is an affordable (and fun way) to enter the American classic car community… GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
Current mileage on the odometer shows 90,693 it is sold as is and is mileage exempt. The car is being sold on a clean & clear title.
