Because of its origins at the Pike Factory, Nissans special project group, the Pao, along with the Figaro, BE-1, and S-Cargo are known as Nissan's "Pike Cars"

The Pao was available by reservation only from January 15th to April 14th, 1989.

Orders were delivered on a first come, first served basis, and the entire production sold out in under 3 months

In 2011, noted New York Times design critic Phil Patton called the Pike cars the "height of post-modernism" and "unabashed retro, promiscuously combining the elements of the Citroen 2CV, Renault 4, Austin MINI, and Fiat 500."

The Pao is powered by a 987cc inline 4 Cylinder engine, making 51hp while getting up to 51mpg in the city and 79mpg on the highway.

This factory green model features automatic transmission, along with cold air conditioning, power rack and pinion steering, independent suspension (struts in front and coil springs in rear), front disc brakes, and yellow fog lights.

These cars featured a "clamshell hatch" in the back which allows the glass portion to raise up, and the bottom to fold into a tailgate. Rear seats fold down for additional cargo space.

The Panasonic stereo system has a Japanese map of Tokyo and a Japanese courtesy voice greets driver when you turn the car on.

This Pao has been very well taken care of with recent left rear shock and all engine rubber mounts replaced and upkeep by a respected local auto specialist.

The exterior color is green and features a lovely, very clean, and complimenting stunning interior.

Currently owned by a noted car collector who also owns a Figaro.

Near immaculate for a car of this age.

A must for any collector who appreciates and loves Micro Cars.

THESE JAPANESE MODELS WHICH ARE CURRENTLY ON A STRAIGHT UP INVESTMENT TRAJECTORY.
